    hey advice please Money Savers.

I am transferring two ISA accounts into a Natwest.

At the end of the month I am transferring 6k

In December I am transferring 22k

anyone know what interest I will get from NATWEST ISA?

also i understand the rates include a 12 month bonus, will the rate for 6k go down in oct 09?

    just a bit confused!!!

  • It's a 2% bonus for 12 months, so after that time period elapses it drops a huge 2%!

Is it safe to transfer to this ISA considering that RBOS has had to have money injected from the Government - does this make it more or less safe to transfer to it do you think?

I would have thought it would be safer now. I transfered my ISA in today from HBOS. The rate is double in NatWest.
  • Northern Rock say they sent my balance on 2nd: phoned Natwest today and it has arrived (I didn't ask precisely when).
  • I have got a letter from Natwest today:

"Please be advised that it is a requirment that you have a Natwest ISA account open before the transfer can be processed. Unfortunately, we cannot locate your ISA account."

And they have returned all my forms! Why don't they contact the branch and ask them what they are playing at, not me?! Now I have to go back to the branch and try and sort it out... for the 3rd time  I'm not impressed.

For all those clued up on natwest ISA, when the financial year starts in april 09, can we deposit again or use a different ISA provider?

When I took my forms to Natwest they opened my ISA a/c there and then and gave me a sheet of paper with all the account details. It showed up 2 days later online.

If you go back I would insist that that they open the account in the branch and give you the details.

You can put 2009/10 ISA allowance into this account - and it is easier than usual to do so since any payment will be received the day you send it (from most banks)

Right, I went back into the branch. Firstly they tried to blame me for filling in the wrong forms (nice!). Then they admitted that the branch was "on a learning curve" during the first week of the offer and the advisiors didn't fill in the correct forms (no apology though). They told me I needed to make another appointment for another day to fill in correct forms (that would be my 4th visit then...). After I complained they reluctantly agreed to do the necessary there and then. So now I will wait and see what happens...

Does the new money get the bonus 2% though?

Btw, it now looks like you can apply for this ISA online.
