Reading about people's disatisfaction with Natwest's service I suggest those in proximity to an RBS branch go there. The deal is very similar and I doubt very much that you will encounter staff so incompetent!0

On the RBS ISA there's a big unanswered question which is really important that you get answered before proceeding. It could cost up to 2% if they use a loophole to avoid paying your bonus. See RBS Transfer ISA Real Interest Rate thread for the situation (but no answers).
danandan: there are plenty of S&S ISA threads on this forum and on the savings board. If you search for 'Halifax investment advice' will find some (Halifax are another bank well known for heavily pushing their own products).
There's a big How to pick a S&S ISA thread which is worth a read.
If you search the savings forum for 'tracker' you'll find plenty of threads.
NB: "We've teamed up with" is usually code for "we've got a cosy sales relationship with" so anything that says that is something to avoid.0 -
I'm in the same boat as you. They want a signature from me which is going to take days to post back and forth. I'm so glad that RBS has so much cash that they don't need our money
What are they doing to get your application sorted out?
The member of staff I saw initially is now on sick leave, and she never got me to fill in the ISA application. I dealt with the manager and deputy manager this time and I hope that it's sorted out now.0 -
My new ISA is showing online, but I'm not convinced that my transfer forms have even got to Natwest (I applied in a branch). Does anyone know if there is a way of finding out what the staus is of transfer forms or do we just have to wait?
I just dont want to wait 30 days to find out the forms never got there!0 -

Seems like I spoke too soon: crossed in the post with my complaint letter to BMW was notification that they've sent the full balance to NatWest. Well done BMW :j0 -
I've been back into the branch this morning, and redone my application.

Well, that sounds more promising. I wish that had been an option given to me, another day and no correspondence from Natwest. I will be interested to hear how long it takes your ISA to come through. Good luck0 -
My ISA transfer from provider A to Natwest took 2 weeks to go as a balance online. The "balance" online is X, and the available is Y, but I assume this is cos Y is a bit of interest (which isn't actually showing as a transaction line yet) and the difference accounts for waiting for the cheque to clear.
As for person who said they are just doing this to draw people in and then reduce the rates, then I think with the 2% bonus then this will still be a good deal. If don't know what rate I was getting with institution A, but I checked what rate I was getting with another provider today and I am getting 4.5%. The only snag is if you want to transfer 2 ISA's, they are opened as seperate accounts and don't get the full bonus (e.g. 10k + 10k would have to be transferred to seperate accounts and wouldn't get the 20k rate)0 -

Are you sure about this, I am transferring two ISA's and was told they would both go into one account.0 -
OK sorry, perhaps I misinterpretted what it meant by "you will need to fill in a seperate form for each". Does the form have a box for the existing account number? The bloke I saw in branch was just a fill in, and he didn't even know if I could transfer more than 1.0
