I've requested transfers of 3 of my ISA's from different providers. I have received letter of confirmation from YBS 16/10/08 that the transfer has been completed but still not showing on my natwest account. Egg Isa still there and ICESAVE god knows when I can get hold of it.
Seems that others are questioning the amount of time it is taking for our cheques from previous providers to reach NatWest.

About 10 or 11 days ago I received a letter from Nationwide to say they had sent a cheque to NatWest on 9th October: the money did not reach my account until today - 12 days later.

First thing this morning I, once again, checked online and still nothing in my account, so a little later I went into my branch of NW to find out what was going on. I asked to speak to someone in private, and a few minutes later a senior staff member appeared saying, coincidentally, that she just happened to be dealing with my account at that moment, and the money was now paid in. However she could not say when the cheque had actually arrived.

Although the lady was most helpful, she was unable to give me answers regarding (a) why it had taken so long to reach my account (though it was suggested that possibly Nationwide had not sent the cheque when they said) .. and (b) whether the interest would be backdated. The interest has amounted to £68 for the 12 days (at £5.66 per day), so I won't be too pleased if I lose that much.

The lady at the branch has promised to find out the answers to my questions, and will hopefully phone me tomorrow. I will post the outcome here as soon as I know.

Right now I'm thinking that there might be 'dodgy' practices going on at NatWest ... we shall see!

I transferred in XXXXX.77 and had used this years allowance. My Balance is showing as XXXXX.77, yet Available showing as just £0.77. Also showing I can pay in £3600 this year :( Called 2 different numbers now and neither understand that this could be an issue. One woman asked me 'So did you want to pay in £3600 because you can do that'. She then said 'The limit you can pay in is £3600'. I said 'Yes, I explained that to you. I have already paid it in so you need to amend your details' 'So you want to pay in less than £3600?' :wall: Then 'did you pay £3600 last year, is that what you're saying?'

My funds were sent by KRBS on the 16th, not showing in account yet.

Puzzled by your comment on interest going into current account ?

Was this NS&I, or NatWest, or are you transferring to RBS ?

Never heard about this before regarding ISAs

From NSandI to Natwest. This was something some people were being told at the beginning of this thread.
  • All mine is done and dusted now, here is how it all panned out for me.

2 transfer forms filled in and taken to NatWest on Sept 25th.

NSandI confirm account closed and transfer complete on Oct 9th.

Money appears in NatWest account on Oct 13th.

SBS confirm account is closed and transfer complete on Oct 14th.

Money appears in NatWest account on Oct 21st.

Despite my original complications with a NatWest employee, I am very happy with the whole process.

Gazza, where you have account details online, does it state you can pay in £3600 this year?

Yes it does, which is obviously wrong at their end, as I have an ISA with Barclays for this years allowance.

No ISA will stop you paying more than £3600 in on the site - they'll either just transfer it back to your linked account, or HMRC will write to you and you'll have the funds returned along with a slap on the wrist from them :) At least that's what happened to my neighbour last year.

My two ISAs showed up in my account today. It said they were credited on the 20th (both sent on 14th) although when I checked last night, 21st, they weren't showing.

Also like Coolio, it says 'available £0.66. As I don't want to withdraw any money I am not bothered by this.
  • My NSandI one is available, my SBS one is not as of yet.

But irrelevant as I am not touching it anyway.

Gazza were you already a Natwest customer?

I wasn't and opened up the first reserve account and filled in the 2 transfer forms on 24th Sept, and I have not yet received any notification of the money being transferred.
