Feel free to play along and post as you progress. You can make this a practice run for the next one. :D It starts 1st January 2009 with slightly higher stakes - £1000 per quarter - as we're doing this whilst also doing the live on £4000 for a year challenge. 2009 I'm hoping to make a money neutral year.

  • Is it sad that I am REALLY excited about doing this!

and I won on the scratch cards, 9.64. I realised I had to play my tenner all the way through, so thought sod it! and then nearly won it all back! sort of.

and I got a 10 pound bonus on Gala after i had finished my fiver?
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Good afternoon :D
Did anyone request the free home insurance quote from Direct L*ne, as recommended by Martin a few weeks ago? I had forgotten all about it until the postman delivered my £5 M&S voucher this morning, s that's another £5 into my pot and the voucher will be used to offset Chrissie shopping :)

Day 20 is Saturday, so figures should be PM'd to me by Sunday to allow for any late payments arriving on Saturday night. Can you title the PMs "1000 in 100" so I can sort through them easily, please? :D

    GOOD LUCK!

Buffy - I love this challenge too and get really excited when I earn anything extra. I never shop as M&S as I live nowhere near one but I was still positively joyous when I received the £5 contribution to my challenge pot this morning :)

What are you lot doing to me? I'm back on the free bingo again, after swearing off it for life! Will only be dabbling briefly though as have to go to 2 vets appointments and am planning to list 5 things on Ebay today.
Can I ask, 57p was deducted from my Paypal once the payment arrived, is this my Ebay fees or is this a Paypal fee and I still have to pay Ebay? Can you tell I never do this? :o
Still no more to add but next week should be a boost to my total :j

Bails, I think you pay auction and payment fees and they can amount to quite a bit, especially when you consider *Bay and PayP*l are all one company. You pay the auction fees later, you'll be billed for them I think, so don't forget to set aside enough to cover them. I may be wrong, but that's how my business accounts run.

Thanks Nyk. So is there a way to cut the costs ie use a different payment method, or is that too risky? My Ebay fee should only have been 10p so that must still be to come.
