"As for the NHS - it's now almost on a par with a third world country."
Oh dear, the rubbish people spout would make me laugh if it wasn't so sad.
Having worked in 'a third world country' I can assure you the health care we receive is incredible in comparison. Find me an NHS hospital that only has medicine 3 months out of the year, or has 3 people in every bed, or 1 doctor for 300 patients. Sit and watch children dying of conditions which are easily treated and then tell me we aren't spoilt in this country.
I am no fan of this government, I can't stand what they have done to the public services. My job is made more difficult every day in hundreds of little paper-shuffling, box-ticking, micro-managing ways. The spin and PR and inability to admit they are wrong. The fact that my husbands personal details were published on the web by mistake and my child benefit details were lost along with every one elses.
It drives me mad!
But have a little perspective.0 -
Anyone who has to consciously put their gob into neutral to deliver a sentence shouldn't be trusted any further than he can be thrown....or maybe the cause of his malady is that he continuously suffers small, but repeated strokes under the pressure of being so useless. Shouldn't be long before he starts to dribble in public. The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. (Oscar Wilde);)0

I've got an O level in cheerleading.
I walked into the room and shouted "Give me an A!" and they did.

send the imigrants home. get all the lazy dole dossers out there bed and make them work. stop there dole give them a meal voucher. the number of people i know that sit in the pub whilst i am out making a living paying for them is unreal. there is 1 family near me that claims dissability for stress for the last 10 years, just had a new conservatory a 05 plate car and a £23,000 dissability car a loft conversion. i work 65 hours a week to pay for this. sort the unemployment out.0

No thanks. All the imigrants I work with work blooming hard and our very British business wouldn't survive without them.
Cut the pity party and focus on your own life. You could leave the country if you're unhappy.

CUTBACKS IN THE POLICE- where? Everywhere - paperwork eating into police time. In london certainly there are more officers,(lucky London - more officers in London because of high crime rates perhaps?) and they are always recruiting for front & back room staff. And employing 'specials' that can't do anything anyway! Waste of money!
Specials are Police Officers. They have the full powers of any other police constable that you see on the street (well, in a car on a street)! They just don't [generally] get paid for it.
Special Constables are volunteer police officers who work mostly for free or minimal expenses policing their local communities, in most forces wearing the same uniform as 'regular' police officers, with the same kit and the same powers.
You're confusing Special Constables with Police Community Support Officers. If you're able to confuse the two then it's evident that you don't know what you're talking about on the subject, and that you probably read the Daily Mail for your information on the Police Service... A newspaper that shouldn't be trusted to be accurate and unbiased in ANY story about the police.0 -
Well, we'll have to differ on that. One of my daughters recently did the same 'A's as me and, frankly, the teaching and her response to it was far better.
I'm sure it partly depends on the subject, and level. But there is absolutely no doubt that although I got a B in German GCSE, I'd have done far worse in O level in 1964, I didn't even understand half the words in the paper!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Bin collections reduced to fortnightly
Depends where you are - here, we have 11 rubbish collections a week, plus 7 recycling ones....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
oh dear this has sparked a riot,,,,okay a bit of humour is intended just to calm things down
i do hope we get passionate about such matters outside the forum too,
you cant really say send all the immigrants back especially the EU ones, they have a right here as any brit myself included to go and live spain, italy, france, etc etc. However, most older generation immigrants came here with contracts given to them to do jobs that were not liked to be done in the 60's by those people residing here, so pls dont put the immigrants down- stating for the immigrants to go back home is not the answer - actually most of the immigrants came and made good lives for themselves here and helped britain with the brickyards, mines, and business too. There are generations of families that i know that from grand dad to great grand child have never worked - just lived off the state!
the above is me being tactful of course, everyone has an opinion
its fun to know others opinions, and real life stories are always the best
keep happy and have a fun weekend ciao laters MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525
