  • Hi there

Just had a speed read as not been at my desk much today. Had my meeting at HQ and I am being asked to cover for someone who will be off at least 6 weeks. Split between my current job and HQ. This starts a week on Monday. OK with that as it is an area of work I have some knowledge of. At least I know folk up there so won't feel too much like the 'new' girl!

Came home at lunchtime (a lovely juicy kipper with bones in - yum!!!!!!) and spent 3 hours doing a bit of a makeover in the back garden. I am so pleased with what I have done (some bits still to finish off). Planted the stuff I bought on Monday and also popped some bits of sedum which needed thinned out into spaces in the rockery until I decide what else I want to plant there. Rain started about an hour after I finished so at least I won't need to water stuff in.

    Everyone seems reasonably OK today.

Just want to say Beth - don't overdo it! Hester - don't you overdo the lifting either! Janny - congratulations and well done! Happy Birthday to Miss Mix. penpin, smokey and mary - hope you are all OK.

Love and hugs to you all.

Hester - hope you get somewhere with your new boss.

Had a horrible day today - loads of bad work calls.

Feeling strangely upbeat though so thats good.

Anyway off to have an early night soon as am sooo tired.

Sorry if I missed anyone's elses news, I had a couple of coffees when out for lunch and they must be stronger than I am used to and now have a headache.

    See you lot tomorrow.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

    ivyleaf :D

stefejb - I would send my DH to sort out your computer problems, but you're too far away!!!

Thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow. I'm exhausted from the children in my class. Unfortunately, I have one boy (this is Yr 2) who is really quite rude. I was appalled at the back chat that I received today from him. There's always a couple of children who try it on, but this child just stepped over the line. Luckily, I have the support of the deputy head and we're having a meeting with the boy's parents tomorrow night.

As a bit of light relief, I've been reading the online novel called Corduroy Mansions by Alexander McCall Smith. I love all his books, so this just gives me an extra "fix" every day! :D

By the way, Bargain Rzl, I've managed to see your little piece on the iplayer! I'd only listened to the Proms on the radio, so it was an added bonus to see a fellow Old Styler on t'box! :D

Thanks for the link Vicky :D

Miss Twit and I decided to go to the golf driving range, I wanted to try out my new toy. Slight problem, as I slammed the front door I realised I'd left my keys inside
Phoned Mum and she dropped us off and then collected us and Mr Twit arrived home early, so problem solved.

Miss Twit wants the laptop, so I'll catch up later.

    Hi guys,

Feeling a lot down today, I have put on the usual face for work over the last couple of days but yesterday was the 6 month mark since we lost Eric and I just can't believe how quickly it has gone. Even though I know he's gone I still expect him to walk throught the door  stupid really I know. I spent yesterday reliving the day as in what I was doing at that time as the day wore on. A good thing I was at work really as I couldn't dwell too much on it until I got home.

I have discovered purely by chance that it is the eldest that is weeing on the carpet - another patch yesterday morning when LO had been asleep in bed - and when I pointed this out to DS1 he said - well it's not me all of the time!!!! He has been told in no uncertain terms that if I find one more patch of wee he will forefit his pocket money and that if this doesn't halt the problems he will loose out on all of the cubs camping trips and the outings that school put on from time to time. I am furious with him that he has stood by and watched LO being punished with having his treats withdrawn and carried on regardless.

The house is tidy, nothing much else done, just got to iron (filthy word) their uniforms and do the lunchbags.

Well done to jannyannie on your degree :T :T :T

Gentle hugs to all in need tonight.
