Good morning all!
Sun is shining and I'm off out to eat my own body weight in pizza later - dontcha just love Pizza Hut! I know I should have more will power, but munching and chatting it disappears all too easily! Be nice to have a catch up with my friend.
Got another friend round this afternoon, hoping to persaude him to mow the lawn as my lawnmower is ill in bed still (ds is still suffering with the bug!) and I'm worried i'll lose the dog out there soon if the grass gets any longer, he's a basset so only has short legs! lol! Not quite as bad as it sounds as my mate is a gardener, so will have his stuff with him.
Just had a lovely call from dd1's new tutor at her new school to let me know how she is settling in, she was so nice and said lots of really lovely things about dd1, my chest swelled with maternal pride!
Not much else to report, dw on, hoovering done, put bm on last night when I got home from w**k so don't need to do that, need to have a clear up of the kitchen again though, seem to have very cluttered surfaces, will do that whilst cooking dinner I think - prob stir fry, but as it's one of ds's faves will wait and see if he wants to eat else i'll cook it tomorrow for him.
Had a huge panic last night, friend phoned me to say their marriage was over, chatted, then exchanged a few texts, then nothing! I thought something awful had happened and was in a real quandry about what to do, but as they'd gone to stay with their parents I figured nothing too awful could have happened to them so waited till this morning to phone again. Thankfully I got a call first, apologising for worrying me and saying they'd just fallen asleep. What a relief!
Need to think up something for oh for his birthday tomorrow, no idea what I can get him, he plays golf, but had new clubs not that long ago and has loads of equipment, besides I don't really know much about what to choose! He goes to the gym, but seems to have lots of stuff for that too, same with running. I'm stuck! Will have to get some silly bits to make him laugh instead.
Going to have a quick catch up then whizz into town before meeting my friend for lunch, might be struck by divine inspiration, lol!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
sorry havent had time for a proper read through, just nipping in
hugs to all those in want or need of one.
congratulations and good wishes where they are due.
im still trying to tidy upstairs and move rooms around, it seems more of a mess than before i started and i keep getting distracted by by knitting
got a new parents evening at my dds college tonight to se how shes settling in. DH is geving blood on saturday and ive been volunteered to help out at a stall for the choir the boys are in, managed to get given a big cupboard yesterday which will be better in the shed than what we have in there at the moment so the weekend should consist of dragging everything out so the cupboard can go in the back hopefully we'll cull some junk and not put it all back in.
I must clear some stuff out of the airing cupboard as well the door is straining at the hinges to hold it all in, ive told hd i will make some of the old sheets and towels into cleaning rags for him, worked out some of them are nearly 25 years old as they were wedding peressies so they are getting a bit threadbare now.
weather actually nice here ive got one load of washing out and another done and waiting once i bring those in.
best get on with something i suppose.
hope everyones day has something nice in it;)SPC~12 ot 124

Morning N9eav, Essex & Sistercas and all who cross & follow.
Work again today, although I'll take some paperwork in with me to do.
No idea about tea tonight, I'll try and dream something up during the day.
Not seen Celyn or SuesySue for a few days
Love and hugs to all The Twit. :grouphug:
I'm here, still reading daily but not posting as I don't really have much to say :rotfl:
Busy settling into my new job, I leave home at 8am and don't get back til 6pm so long days then have to do dinner, sort out DS so not much time for me! OS wise I am loving my Remoska, Panny and Kenwood, they are keeping me sane at the weekends.
Hugs to all those in need, Hester can't you get one of Nelski's men to help with the humping and dumping!!
Have a good day all.

Washing is in the machine and turkey leg is in the slow cooker so I can take the meat off later and use it for chicken noodles or something like that.
Have found an electrician who will call next week to fix the double socket in the kitchen that does not work. While he is here I asked him if he could change two double sockets to triple ones so that I can make better use of the space in the kitchen.
With the breadmaker, slow cooker and kettle on I run out of plugs. Have decided not to tell DH about the triple plugs and just see if he notices!!!!;)
Hester
I really hope that things get sorted out for you and that you get some help.
Going out to catch the stall at the weekly market that sells eggs as they are always busy.
DH has just realised the cost of things so is trying not to switch heating on, leave lights on etc - which is fine - except HE does not feel the cold!!!!
He has been informed in no uncertain terms that if I think we really need the heating on - then it goes on!!!! I am not going to make DDs or myself ill for the sake of a few pounds."This site is addictive!"

Happy Birthday to Sam Mix - great to be 9!
Hugs to all in need, seems like a lot at the mo.
Kathy - I've just started making yoghurt again, do it on a daily basis now! dds take it in their lunchboxes with some honey or jam stirred into it! My fave way of eating it is mixed with cream! Anyway I warm a litre of UHT, skimmed, semi or full fat, whichever you prefer, in the microwave to blood temp (just warm), then whisk up with a carton of yeo valley natural yog, or about 5 tbsp of hm yog when you have some, and about 8 tsp of milk powder, this makes quite a thick yoghurt, use less powder if you prefer runnier yoghurt. Then I pour it all in the flask and leave overnight, when you take it out in the morning it is still slightly warm and usually a bit lumpty looking, give it a whisk with a fork and it'll go smooth, cool and pop in the fridge. So easy and so tasty! There is a way of doing it in the sc on the grocery challenge recipe list, but it didn't work for me.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

:bdaycake:
ThanksTroo - you sound really positive today! It's a good idea to keep some cards in the car; good luck!
Hope the postiveness lasts, I seem to wake up in a different mood each day
Oooooooooh my thighs are screaming :rotfl:
The cage is cleaned out, the piggles are running round the kitchen at the mo.
Washing is on the line.
Baked potato is defrosting on the workshop (tuna or beans, tuna or beans? I can't decide lol).
A bit of ironing to do but I can't be bothered. I might hide it

Mornin:hello:
(((((((((hugs))))))))) for all in need today x
Sun is shining and its a lovely day :T Think I will have a dabble in the garden, just to tidy up a bit while the weather is so nice.
2 loads of washing done and on the line.
Veggies done ready to do something in the slow cooker, I havent done much in it yet, mainly beef stews, as I have only just acquired it from Mum, she was going to throw it out.
We bought it for her ages ago and she only used it once, so I said I would have it. Its only a small one, but I love it, just got to find some recipes for it now, I have no idea what she has done with the books to go with it,knowing Mum she has thrown them out  all help gratefully received
Can someone tell me if I can put tinned chick peas in it
I havent read through yet, I will do later,
Anne

Troo - good luck with the cards, great idea keeping them in the car. Do you do a sort of menu with prices on it that the shop could display - anything that makes their life easier is going to make them more likely to stock them, I was thinking of a laminated one I saw with the hand made cards in Dunelm once.
Just ordered a necklace and earrings set that was posted on Grabbit - just the cost of p&p to pay, nice silver heart on chain and earrings to match. Thought dd1 would like it, was going to give it to her as a well done pressie after what her teacher said earlier, BUT just thought she hasn't got pierced ears lol! Doh! Still it's a nice set, and she's been told she can have them pierced when she's 14, so might save it for her birthday in April! Can't believe I'm so daft! Right, finished doing jobs that needed sorting, off out now, have a good day all xx
Edit: Pippa - yes you can put tinned chick peas in your sc! Try a bolognese sauce made in it, slow cooking these kind of sauces is great, really adds to the flavour.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning all,
Happy birthday wishes and congratulations to those who need it!
*hugs*
Well...all my tests so far have come back normal but i'm still in pain so that's a joy, i've been signed off work for 4 weeks which i'm not happy about as it just seems to be dragging on now, it's been almost 4 months now!! I go see a specialist next week, highly likely they want to do a internal going through my bum...won't be happy about that!!
It's my step-dads b-day so if i'm feeling strong enough I hope to make him a cake, but I hope everyone is having a good day, it's quite nice here today and grrrr mum and I are so annoyed we forgot to set the sky+ for martin last night grr!!
I shall have a nosey again later
Jo

Thanks
I used to make allsorts of sizes but only one size sold really well so I make them all from 12cm x 12cm card. They all sell for the same price so that's nice and easy
I take pics of everything I make. I was thinking of doing a little catalogue or something, but that means I have to keep a few of each design - I tried that before and ended up with lots left over. So I'm not sure how to go about it now
