    :hello: Good morning!

I'm up earlier than usual today as it's the 2nd part of DH's "X-pert" diabetes course and I want to go with him, and I have to take Omeprazole first thing in the morning (it reduces stomach acid), preferably an hour before food, so wanted plenty of time to have breakkie after the hour's up:D

jayward - sorry, can't think why I thought your OH was in banking :o it must have been someone else's OH! My SIL's job seems to be okay, he was with Bear Stearns  but thankfully he left before they collapsed!

Betheebee - I can't believe how much you have done on your own! But as redruby says, please be careful, we all worry about you, you know! Poor Ben, he is bound to get tired very easily for a while (((HUGS))), so frustrating for him.

Penny_Pincher - hope you had a good night's sleep again.

mrs_mix, Churchmouse, Bargain Rzl, Shez, Catowen, Stefejb, VickyA :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

jannyannie Congratulations! :T :T  _party_ don't worry, it will sink in eventually!

dubgirl - sorry that things are keeping you awake, been there, done that! I found Kalms seemed to help, but I do hope things can be resolved for you even if it doesn't look like it atm ((((duddles)))

Hester - I do hope you can sort something out at work, I'm not surprised you're so fed up with it!

    Mary (((HUGS)))

    Smokybabe ((((((HUGS))))))

joannasmum - hope your OH is feeling better and that his tests are sorted soon.

Mioliere - MMMMM,bread and butter pudding! (said in Homer Simpson-type voice)

AussieLass - hope you've had a chance to get some rest after that hectic Ninny Day :D Glad DGS's hands are doing well.

Congratulations to anyone celebrating today, and (((HUGS))) to all who need them.

Off now to catch up on the rest of yesterday's thread. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

    Morning all

Unbelieveable - I'm actually on here early!! Probably cos I've been lying awake all night worrying about this HBOS thing, and couldn't bear to lie there any longer. I'm just so glad we paid off our mortgage at the end of the fixed term, a couple of years ago.

    Jannyannie Congratulations and well done.:T

Ivyleaf I'm on Omeprazole too, amongst all the other [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] tablets I have to take. I don't think its working as well as it used to though.:(

Mr LW is on early shift again, so working from home - so I might do a soya Shepherd Spy for lunch; he knocks off at 15:30, and we have some errands to do, so getting the main meal out of the way will be a good idea.

(((((Hugs))))) to everyone who wants/needs one.

    Have a good day.

morning all! didn't get time to pop in yesterday sorry!
Got a really busy day today too!

Had a call last night from the daughter of a gentleman I cared for for 17 years before he moved down south to a retirement home, He is rapidly deteriorating and the docs say it is nearly the end now. :( it is so sad - he was such a gentleman - used to work for the bank of England as a manager. We used to do the telegraph crossword together. He will be 98 in December.

Plans for today sare - cleaning for mum, nails done, visit to friend and meal out tonight for my best friends birthday. I havent got her a pressy yet - just dont know what to get her. It was her birthday on Monday but she didn't celebrate as that is the anniversary of her sons death.

    (((hugs))) to those in need

Mrs_Mix and Catowen - hope you're both well !:hello: :hello:

    Congratulations to jannyannie

    Chrisca, have a great holiday.

Well, the sun is shining here today, but there is definiately an Autumnal nip in the air. Anyway, WM is on so will peg that out later.

Need to take some cardboard to the recycling and might nip into Home Bargains and Aldi.

Think I will do a fish pie for dinner in the remoska, the recipe says to use oats in the topping, but tried that last time and it was  so might just do cheesey mash.

Want to try to get some things listed on Ebay today, as I have nothing listed.

Off to feed Charlie and the cat, so will catch you all later x

  • Morning everyone from a sunny Co.Durham, letter arrived yesterday from Warmfront, Dyson are coming on Monday to fit our new gas boiler, cant believe we are getting it done so quickly only taken 4 weeks!! DH is having to move some pipework outside ready for the new vent to go in. Simple enough job you may think but the old pipework is imperial and we now have to match it up with metric fittings!! The old boiler was a floor standing model and this one will be wall mounted so will fit neatly into a larder cupboard where i kept my tumble drier. Quick rearrange of kitchen and i will be left with a gaping hole when old boiler is removed. Have thought about putting tumbler in there but it will look strange as its too small. Definitley will have to have a dishwasher now just to make kitchen look good.
Went to Asda yesterday and wasnt exactly blown away by their price reductions mostly 1p off smartprice items. The best was mushrooms down from £1.47 to £1.16 and onions down from 88p to 50p, still got to be grateful for anty reductions at the moment.
Having a good week on Ebay so far!
Lunch today will be stewing steak casserole, which i did overnight in slow cooker
Have a good day everyone BSB XX

    Morning all

Weather wise, not a bad day here today. I didn't have such a good night. so have been on a go slow this morning.

Lentil soup turned out really good yesterday. I made enough to freeze some too, so was feeling very pleased with myself. I also melted down some candles to make new ones, and will be having a look online to buy some candle making stuff today.

DDs want to go ice skating but it will depend on how I'm feeling a bit later as to whether we do or not. Apart from that, a nice easy day.

I sympathise MRS TITTLEMOUSE. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Happy Birthday to Sam Mix - have a great day! I wish I was 9 years old!

Chrisca - have a great holiday!

Troo - you sound really positive today! It's a good idea to keep some cards in the car; good luck!

Ivyleaf - I only do bread-and-butter pudding when I can't think of anything else for pudding! DH loves puddings but I wish I'd never started making them because it's a chore having to think of them as well as dinner. I want to have a go at making my own yoghurt because I can just add stewed fruit to it for easy puddings. I'm going to trawl the threads looking for how to make it in a flask because I don't want to fork out for a yoghurt-maker.

Taplady - I know it's inevitable that your friend will pass away, especially as he has had a good long life, but it's still sad when you have such good memories of the time you spent with him.

Well, I've changed the sheets and got them on the line in this gorgeous warm sun; I've dusted upstairs, emptied the bins and put the vacuum cleaner ready to use, had a shower then cleaned the bathroom, so I just have to hoover after I've dried my hair and put some make-up on. I've decided to put 'office' clothes on before I start my work in the hope that it will make me feel more like doing it! Of course, that will only work in the warm weather - as soon as it gets cold again, I shall be back in my jeans!

I can't believe the weather;it's perfect today with bright blue sky, full sun and no clouds whatsoever. What a difference it makes!

Well, I'd better go and get on with things.
