Can someone advise how to stop getting international telephone calls please. I stopped answering the telephone if it said the incoming call was international as we are getting 2 - 3 a week. Now, yesterday morning, I received a call at 1.15am and that isnt funny and so I must find out how to stop these calls.
I too have started getting these calls at night. Normally I ignore international calls and let them go to answer machine, but its hard to ignore then when you get woken up at 4 in the morning. Any help be much appriciated. Cheers

  • I received a call from a man who said his name was Pushkar and he was calling from New Delhi on behalf of Icare Solutions based in Swansea. TPS said they could not trace that company. I kept barking at Pushkar that I needed the company's address and phone number but he kept repeating that he would give it to me at the end of the call. Does anyone know Icare Solutions based in Swansea?
I enjoyed some of the prank responses but I think the same person has phoned several times (it's rarely, fortunately for him, me who gets to answer) and they called once at 2:15 am.
    Thanks

I finally found out where these callers from overseas are getting phone numbers and your name from. It's from https://www.192.com.

If you go to that site and search for yourself, you will be surprised just how much info comes up on you such as all your details, how much and when you bought your house, who lives in the house everything.

I got my details taken off 192.com and never had a call since.

    I would suggest the same.
  • Thanks Driver8. Did you have to register with 192 to get them to remove your details?

Hi, no you don't have to register.

Just fill this form out and post it.

Another option if you can get their fax number. Send them 100 sheets of black paper regularly. Make sure there is a small ammount of white text explaining what you want them to do.
    Masterly. :D

IYet for the past few weeks getting calls froma call centre in India. Their English is so bad I cannot understand a word they say.
Go to an online translator like Systran. Translate an ... er ... suitable phrase to the language required.

    Use as required.

Sadly all calls have stopped since I took to swearing and renting at the callers who sometimes tell me there is no need to swear at which time I tell them that there is no need to phone me unless I have specifficutly asked them to then I start ranting again. Strange how they never call back.

does anyone know how to stop those annoying recorded message phone calls coming in? I get at least 3-4 per day they usually start with "Are you aware..."

its really annoying and wasting my time!
I'd answer "Yes, I am aware, for I am the Great Karnak: I see all, I know all" and see what they respond with :)

I had some door step caller today, don't know what he wanted. He started with "Are you the homeowner?" when I unlocked and opened the door. I replied with "No, I'm the squatter." He repeated my line, I closed the door, and he left.

(Yeah, a squatter with a set of keys, batch!) :)
