I haven't sold anything on etsy but I know afew people who earn a second wage on there. It's just a matter of putting something on and hoping someone stumbles across it, bit like ebay i guess.

I prefer DFW to all the other boards too, everyone's so friendly on here! I read that people on other boards call us the cuddlers or something like that.

Yeah I venture onto housing and economy and the other housing board, they're a lot rougher and view us as hand holders. I go on family board too, but they're quite cuddly also! Ventured onto pets once, never again, vicious people!

  • I was looking at the Clear £20k challenge and wondered if anyone would mind fi I joined on a Save £x-amount basis, but need to decide on a challenging but realistic figure first.

The Huggies I think it is Cinny! I was a lurker for ages on DFW (which I think gave me a false sense of the whole forum), but my first ever post was a query on the bank accounts board, where I mentioned I had a £1.5k overdraft and the first response I got was "God, if you can't even manage a measly £1.5k of debt how do you ever plan on buying a house/car etc" then went on this tirade about people complaining that they're in debt! It really shocked me and was quite hurtful to be spoken to like that, after all it wouldn't really happen in real life, but luckily it didn't put me off the whole place!

Yeah, you wouldn't think it but they ARE! I got two cats which had previously been house cats but I wanted to encourage them outside a bit. I looked on that forum and there was a woman asking about the same thing and they just savaged her: "You're an evil human for making your poor ickle kitty go outside in the nasty cold" - it was ridiculous, they ARE animals after all! I thought I'd better not post my question! I think some of the other boards can be a bit cliquey as well - sometimes I've contributed to a thread and the conversation has carried on with no acknowledgement whatsoever :o

My cat, she used to sit on my doorstep and cry until I let her in, then refuse to leave at night. Clearly she had had an owner as she had a scratty colar on, but she just didn't want to leave. After 2 months of putting her out and her sitting on the step and crying all through the night I asked what to do on there and I was branded an evil pet stealer of proportions never previously seen on this planet. She was so scrawny before I took her in, clearly undernourished, a woman came and said she was hers and wanted her back but my cat hid from her so no way was she going!

That's it, the huggers!! Everyone on here seems to take the gently gently approach to debt busting. The OSers are nice too, but they can get abit scary when it comes to the credit crunch!

If I want to save £20,000 next year I'll have to save £1,600 odd per month! I hardly see that in 13 weeks on my wages. Still, hoping to get abit of a payrise in march which should help. I might lag behind (alot!) but I'll give it my best shot! Be a miracle if I actually did it.

aww, my cat daisy used to do that! It annoyed everyone but me. She passed away on sunday while I was away, it's so hard getting used to her not being there wailing away. Last night I was lying awake waiting for her to come to the door and completely forgot!

Lol we can have our mini savings club on here, people like Hypno are terrifying in the ammount they clear! Where does it come from?!

I was really bad last night, got an email about the new Book people clearance shop, Bananas. So I went on to check it out, and grief it's cheap. Got my grandparents that new national trust book that is £30 in the shop for £4.50. Ordered a few little bits as pressies, and a sewing book for about £2.50 for me, then I noticed it was free postage over £25.... well I was halfway there already so.... I hate paying for postage, £3.50 for postage or £10 more books.... spent £30.50 in the end, about £20 of which was purely for me, cook books and a couple of craft books and things. Bad girl! Must stay away from discount books! I've been a lot better since finding RiSi, but they don't have many cook or craft books on there, and they are a huge weakness of mine!

Just got my £50 amazon voucher through from Qype! I'm going to save it until Amazon's sale starts, should have my test voucher through from Dooyoo by then too, and that is unfortunately not going to be me being good, that is me buying some books on kiln glass, and pottery for how to work my new kiln, and on making wedding stationary so I can see where I get with that. I consider it an excellent investment if long term it provides a second income or even better, means I can work from home one day.

Been thinking about what Tesco voucher lady (okay know it wasn't 'lady' but I'm in full flow here and can't remember and because I'm quickposting I can't go back and see!) said on here yesterday, part of me is very intregued by the idea of writing again, I do really enjoy it, but I don't know what exactly I would write!
