Well some positive news (not money related, Christmas has messed that up, I'm gonna come in to payday with about a tenner spare!). OH ran into his ex in town today and it seems seeing her made him realise he doesn't care if divine retribution exists and she gets her comeupance, and he owes it to himself and us to try this thing properly in England. So, I'm a happier bunny.

    _party_ :j :T :D

There, all the happy faces I can get!!

turns out today is the last day of work, not monday. Bought in presents and an extra jar of nigella's chilli to give to who ever's willing. I think we're having a wee party between 12 when the other office woman comes in and 12:30 when I go. Which means I think I can do a NSD today, not having to buy dinner.

Great news! Sometimes it takes something like that to make you appreciate what you've got.

Did you get all that stuff in the Teesside Pk Asda?! Nothing going in Billo but then it is only the size of the average corner shop...

I watched Nigella last night for the first time all the way through and she was very compelling!! I'm off to buy maple syrup and goose fat today :D.

Well I never thought I'd turn into one of those saddoes who keep a pad and pen by their bed to write down work-related stuff when they wake up in a cold sweat in the night, but apparently I have, so I'll pop back a bit later...:rolleyes2

Those mapley things looked soooo yummy!! I think if I had a meal at Nigella's i'd be left feeling so so sick afterwards, all her foods look so rich and sweet I think I'd die after the first course!

She sells all her puddings well, like with the christmas puddini from tuesday 'These little balls have everything going for them.' Ooerr!

The show makes me feel quite seasick though, like my sisters boyfriend said. Some scenes look like they've been shot by a peeping tom.

Tis a happy day for all it seems! My work party is tonight Cinny, I've been really lazy this year and just brought everyone candy canes, I can go back to being a domestic goddess when I have my own kitchen to be domestic in - mums oven has to be shut with a lump of wood after a minor incident where all the sealant melted! Going for a festive Chinese.

Nope no date for when he's coming over firmly, although I think September at the latest, as he is still talking about doing the GDL course and thats when that starts. I can cope if that's when it is as there is a fairly near end in sight, it's this not knowing that makes me depressed. Or the 3 year timescale, I can't cope with waiting for my 'proper' relationship to start for 3 years!

Yep it was the Asda at Home at Teesside Park Tete, on the upper floor. There wasn't a collosal amount but there were a nice few stocking stuffers. The clothes are nicely reduced too, especially the party wear. Got a nice patent look clutch bag for £2.43 and a retro 50s blouse with cardi over for £6. My dad has already bought one of the little presents I got off me, and my OH bought another one!

OH has been extremely quiet about Christmas, he can't normally keep a secret AT ALL, so I'm hoping this will be a good suprise not a 'heres some rubber gloves, some skimpy undies in mesh and wierdly plastic fabric and some talc'....ho hum, what do you have in mind with all of this?! I took a bit of a gamble on one of his presents, hoping it pays off not that he thinks I lost my marbles. Can't get another one anywhere, so I'm doing an IOU and giving it to him a few days later, he's said he'd rather I got things in the sales anyway.

Told my boss that this second MA they want me to do looks a bit intensive, ie 2 days a week not the 1 they wanted. She didn't seem to mind, and I'm chuffed to bits not to be going back to school. Need to learn to take a few more risks not plan everything out and control it, and that's going to start with getting creative and seeing if anyone likes my tat! Found art-mecca last night, a huge store has just opened at Teesside Park, 2 floors of paint, wool, fabric, glue, papers etc, I wandered around for nearly an hour but I was so good, I didn't leave with anything other than the free leaflets and the free magazine! There was so much I wanted though, I just didn't know where to start!

You did well at the craft shop, I normally come out with a mountain of wool, fimo and paint. They had a bunch of frames at my adsa, really nice fabric ones, but I have no where to put them, or anywhere to store them so they had to be left. There is a meet up for all the lads in the yard at the pub tonight, i think afew people from the office are going too but it's not my thing really, although the idea of lemonade on tap might sway me.
Hope you have fun at your office do tonight!

Heeyyyy, maybe he's asking the big question, going shopping with his mother the other day, so she could help him pick a ring! I should not plant these ideas in your noggin though. :D

Lol no I'm certain things aren't at that stage anymore. Plus he's a real approval seeker, and boy would his mother dissaprove of him proposing to me, I can't see him taking her along if he ever goes ring shopping! Both his parents seem to have real issues with seeing their little boy as an independant adult male.

Going to go along to town at lunchtime and pick up a few bits and bobs to make a care package for my Auntie. She's been very ill in hospital for a while, just going to send her some choccies, some nice smellies and a flannel, puzzle book that kind of thing, things she can use in hospital. She lives in Wales which is a long trip for me, but hoping to get down there in the new year.

I've just got my payslip and I've had a realisation. After tax, student loan, pension etc I get £1601 per month (slight wibble depending on milage). If I put this aside every month that would be near as makes no difference my 20k for the year. However I need around £650 per month to live on, so, when I look at it like this it isn't so bad, I only need to make £650 per month to achieve my target. It's tough, but it's do-able. Mentally this is quite a powerful tool too - anything I spend I need to make back again!
