  • Hi Dinah,

I think your right to leave early and drive to the branch. Hopefully, you can get it all sorted out today and forget about your ex for good.

    Hi Dinah,

Good luck with getting everything sorted with the bank, if you have any problems I've found citizens advice to be a great help in the past.

    Good Luck

I called the bank this morning to check it was okay for me to come down at 4 and I was told 'you can if you like, but it's an online account you have so there is really very little we can do'. Goodie. So I called the debt recovery team, and the girl said she would give me a month to get it changed to a single ownership before a CCJ was issued, so going to have to continue to pull apart my room looking for the little slip of paper saying I sent it.

  • Hi
sorry i haven't read the entire thread so i'm not 100% what has happened and i'm not sure if it helps but i recently closed my A&L account because they took over a year to change my name on the account after i got married. because they didn't send any new cards, cheque books etc after i'd filled in all of the paperwork I couldn't access my money and when i rang they wouldn't speak to me because they said i had the wrong name! when i went into the branch they said my passport was no good as ID as it only proved that I wasn't the account holder!

anyway whilst ours was an online account we finally got it closed and the money sent out because we got the branch staff to ring on our behalf while we sat with them. They eventually saw how much of a mess it all was and how frustrated we were getting, it also prevented me from screaming at them down the phone...so while it might be an online account you might be best going in and speaking to someone. At least you feel like you've got your point across as on the phone I was always convinced that they were painting their nails or something while i was on the phone!

    Good Luck
    Debts all paid!!!:j

At this point I half want them to take it to court as I can stand up there and say 'look judge here's the money to pay it off, now if they take evil-ex's name off the account I'll hand them this money right now'. How can it be this hard to get an account in debt into one name?

Just got an email from Qype, not getting the £50 voucher, really gutted as needed that.

Bad week. *sulks* Least OH told me this morning he might be coming back on the 19th not 23rd, thats an extra 4 days so that makes me happy. I emailed the guy who runs the site and hes looking into it, apparently its cos 3 reviews were used on Dooyoo, but I checked the rules before I used them but he's offered to write more in replacement. Head guy seems quite on the ball though and friendly, so everyone cross your fingers.

Dinah, just caught up on your thread. Hope you're feeling better soon and get it all sorted _petting_by_sml_e.gif

Isn't there any chance you could cancel his card? or if it's online ask to change the password? seems bl0ody rubbish how you're having to pay it off only for him to spend it all again. What a prat.

Sending a nice big hug your way _hug__by_rob389.gif

(fingers crossed for your voucher too!)
