  • I'm afraid only he can answer that and your are going to have to have a chat with him before it really gets you down. He owes it to you to give you a reasonable timeframe, given what you have told all of us.

Money making update - another £45 paid off, got through £35 off amazon and £10 from a mystery shop I did about 2 months ago and had no idea was owing!

Started doing the ebay listings tonight, then got into this huge depressing future talk with OH. No listings done and I just see my future as this huge grey blandness.

Just wanted to give you a hug. Don't like to see you feeling so down, after everything you have achieved in the past year. Just don't know what else to say. Hope things seem better in the morning x

    Hi all,

Long time lurker, how are you feeling today dinah? Any news re OH and plans etc?

You are doing amazingly well with shifting your debts!! A real inspiration!! xx
  • Ohh ((Dinah)), I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I couldn't say if your OH has a good chance of getting a training contract or not, but I know you're frustrated that he's prioritising his career over your family plans. It might just take time for your OH to accept that his career plans will be affected by the fact that you need to have children sooner than he had anticipated. I know I'm the kind of person who used to be very goal-oriented and have very set ideas of where I wanted to be with my career in x years but now that I've been with OH for longer (2 years 8 months, how time flies) I'm realising that while having a great career is nice and all, actually I *have* to fit it round a family and around spending time with him as that's what will make me happiest in the end, so I have to look for a less pressurised job. The point is that it took me a while to relinquish my dreams of being a high-flyer and accept that I might have to settle for (what I might perceive as)second-best in the career department in order to have the best family life. Even though my head knew that all along, it was difficult to just lose the ambition I had straight away. I hope that makes some sense! Your OH is having to deal both with your fertility issues and with his degree class not being as good as he'd hoped, and his plans of being a solicitor will have been in place for years before he found out about both these things, so they aren't going to disappear overnight. In any case, he doesn't have to be totally established in his dream job for you to be ready to have children; don't they say that if you waited until you could afford children, you'd never have them!

Reading that back it seems a bit garbled but I hope I'm making some sense :o the most important thing is that you've found the man you want to have children with, which is amazing :T and the timeline will work itself out eventually :)

Hell to it, you're having a dodgy hug I don't have any other ones on my smilie list!:grouphug:

Hoping it went okay? It's better to get things out in the open then keep it to yourself.

Sorry I haven't been able to post much, the internet is having problems opening any threads on DFW  and I've been manically searching for my missing cat but he wandered back into the garden yesterday afternoon so I've finally had a decent nights sleep!

I've heard this and completely agree - even if your wages are going up and up all the time - the more you have, the more you spend, you just need to reallocate the money. For the last three years my friend have been on holidays to the Dominican and Florida, but they haven't this year and can't next year because they've just had a little boy :j They're not bothered about missing their holidays... (I would be and this is how I know I'm not ready for kids! :p)

I shouldn't get too attached to him, he is a stray tom cat but so loving! Like my mum said 'you don't know how many other families think he's theirs' He came back looking grubby buy very well fed!

Morning all. Again, a bit better this morning (until something happens to knock me down again) although I do have a very sore head.

OH and I talked for about 6 hours last night, and to be honest I'm not sure if anything really got worked out. We came to some sort of amicable truce, but I don't know what it actually means and where things are now going. Although with my head this painful I don't actually care to think about it!

Every time I look at my signiture it irritates me, I'm so close to being under 5k I can taste it! If the money comes through from paypal today or tomorrow then I'll be much happier about it! So far I have done 2/90 Dooyoo reviews for the month, and 0/90 ebay listings, although have 19 lined up to relist over the weekend, plus a few of the comics. Decided we're not going to relist two of the series as they are near complete and therefore easier to shift to a dealer.
