£510 will be easy Tete, that's more than I get a month!.. I think :D - but then I don't have a car to run, filled my Vespa up this morning on the way to work, £4! - is the £510 after buying the converse and undercoat?

It's after buying the jacket and trainers ... but before the dress!! Ooh it is lovely! Not sure about the straplessness though, I don't really have the 'scaffolding' to keep it up! Also not sure if I can get my student discount online... What I'll do is pop in to the store at lunchtime and see if they have it there, then decide!

I'm perusing the sale now too, she's such a bad influence isn't she Birdie?!

Terrible! Luckily I can't find anything that I HAVE to have, so my bank account is safe for now! The only think I fancied were these:

Yup all my various savings standing orders go out today, so by the end of the day I'll have about £560 to last me the month too Tete... not used to budgetting this way, used to having about £1000 available and spending as and when the car needs it or something strikes my fancy. But we've booked the weekends away, AND paid them off the CC (over £100 spend so just in case travelodge or ryanair go bankrupt!), although I remain very tempted by Paris. Could book the flights and then book the hotel using next months holiday money when it comes in.... NIM is encouraging me to book it too, bad man!

Not doing anything tonight, NIM is working, mum dad and brother are out, so I'm feeling a bit sad that my DFD is going to be spent cleaning!

To be fair after tax I earn around £52 a day, so quite a lot more than I earn too - I was helped by that big £2,600 insurance payout in September, basically other than that it works out that my entire wage went on debt, and I lived on my extra earners.

Called my grandad this morning to tell him I had transfered £1000 rather than the usual £200 this morning, and he sounded so pleased, which is always nice.

Feeling a little lost in the money wilderness now, all my accounts have 'C's after them. Also don't know what to call the new thread! Don't want it too different as want it recognisable as mine!

How about 'The Ultimate Incentive to STAY debt free'?
I think you should take the night off Dinah, don't do cleaning! Enjoy some time on your own, doing your own thing to celebrate finally being free of the shackles of those horrible people!

I'm sorry! Spendy Cinny is a little fantastic though.
Tete - you could wear a vest top underneath it. That's what I was going to go anyways, not sure if I'm getting it or not just yet. Will drag OH to Meadowhall sunday if we don't go to heaven, sorry, Cadbury World, to have a proper looksie at it.

Wendz - Zante would be lovely! As long as you don't do a Shirley Valentine on us! (Was that Zante?) Hope you get a great deal, when is it you'll be going?

Dinah - I'm going with NIM on this one, Book Paris!! You might be in 'money wilderness' but just think of all the lovely places you can go too now, guilt free because you won't be thinking 'I could of paid X off the CC' Go enjoy yourself. I can't help you with the new journal title though, I'm useless with words!
You really shouldn't spend you DFD cleaning, but if you really have to, get it all done super quick, then put your feet up with a glass of wine, some choccies and a good book/movie.

ETA: I like Birdies idea! That's why she's the creative one of the bunch, and I just buy dresses.

Well done on getting debt free Dinah.

Just on a comment about Paris. My wife and I are going over for our 1st anniversary this year.

We managed to book Eurostar tickets for £59 (We do live down south now so easier to get to central london). On the hotel from I would a hotel which was a little different and fairly cheap. (ideal hotel design paris if you google it). The rooms were not badly priced at 90Euros per night. It is also in zone 1 so you don't have to buy expensive travel card and things.

Oh just buy the Eiffel Tower dress and go to Paris :D Don't fancy the Eurostar no? ;)

How about The Ultimate Incentive to Save or something, referring to your dream house?

ETA - how long did it take me to write that?!?

I think I'm going to take the advice of everyone on here (and NIM) and book the tickets to Paris. It's £48 (or £49, I forget) flying from Newcastle to Paris, thats for two of us, return, if eurostar can beat that then I'll happily give them the money!

To be perfectly honest the main thing putting me off booking it was you lot taking bets on if NIM would propose again, he's already promised its not on the cards so no more taking bets on my love life!

E90 is pretty good Poolie, whats the hotel called?

Hmmm I like your style Cinny, I've downloaded loads and loads of films I haven't watched yet, I still have my hotel chocolat egg sitting there wanting to be eaten, and we have a couple of bottles of wine sat in that NIM bought at an offy MS last month, so would be a treat night for me, and utterly free! Plus NIM is home early tonight, so we could watch a second film or play a bit of our online game together or something, as he hasn't had time off this week either.

I usually paint on a Friday night, but going to do that sat morning or sunday when NIM is at work instead, so I can make some proper headway into all the paintings I owe him. Currently have one full canvas drawn up just ready to paint, one drawing finished, transfered to tracing paper ready to put it on canvas (do all my drawings on paper and transfer them as don't want to dent the canvas rubbing things out) but I've kind of lost the drawing atm, and then I have loads of unstarted ideas. Also have several un-NIM-series related ideas I want to paint so lots to get cracking on.
