I've just looked up that Bill chappy Birdie, says first lesson free and someone covers my area so I'll give them a ring over my lunch break to get prices and what not!

Tete - I think I'll be able to pick it up easily, I get the whole clutch and gear thing, just need to transfer it from my hands to my feet really! Have a nice sorty-outy day, I could do with making a list myself, I'm useless today!

You could be truely MS Cinny - just go through all the instructors who offer free lessons and see how far that gets you!

Had to go to the Drs this morning as the tummy cramps hit a new level. He's given me some uber anti-biotics, and told me to stay home this week - only planning to stay off until the anti-biotics kick in though, can't afford to take a whole week off!

Need to make another £33 this week to cover the £500 savings payments coming out on the 25th. Think we have £10 coming in off the bingo, just a msytery £23 to find then!

Aw Dinah, I didn't know it was that bad. I just thought it was the normal dodgy stomach you get after getting back off of holiday. Hope you're feeling better soon! If the doc tells you too then snuggle up in bed for a week and watch cheesy movies (although I doubt they told you to do the latter) You'll get sick pay for the days you're off anyways right?

That Bill Plant place are doing the first 5 lessons for £56, there's got to be some kind of hidden catch?

I'm sure you'll have no problem finding the £23 you need, although knowing you you'll probably find triple that.

I thought that Bill Plant had a good deal on! We know him which is why he was lurking in the back of my head (big rugby thug with cauliflower ears!) although he doesn't teach anymore, just has his team of minions doing it! I'm not sure what the catch is, maybe the lessons are expensive after the first 5? If that is the case, just move onto another school! Or threaten to and you may get a good deal out of the instructor! Be sure to build a good rapport with your instructor and you'll get away with all sorts of help and freebies, mine was fab- he booked my theory and practical tests for me because I kept forgetting to and I'm sure I ended up with a couple of free lessons along the way!
My meeting with the housing people is tomorrow afternoon, I'll have to find out where it is as I have no idea what time I have to sneak out of work!Sorry to hear your stomach is still bad Dinah, they don't call it Pharoh's Revenge for nothing! Hope you start to feel better with your mega-pills!

Urgh! I really miss my paragraphs, it makes me look like a simpleton who can't write properly! Will have to play with IE settings again although I haven't a clue what I'm doing!

I didn't know your tum was that bad either! Remember to keep drinking lots to replace all the, er, fluids that you're losing! I've never heard the phrase Pharoh's Revenge!

£56 for 5 lessons is brill Cinny, as far as I'm aware you can't really get them for less than about £18 per hour these days. Mine were £15 per hour and I was doing them in two hour blocks as an hour flies by, really ate up all my money at the time, then I passed and it was eaten up by tax, insurance, petrol... ! But learn to drive, it's great! Have you thought about putting in for your theory asap, then if it does come naturally to you you can put in for your practical as soon as you're ready?

Oh good luck with the housing people Birdie! What are you going to say to them? What do you actually want from them?

I don't really know what I'm going to say/expect! I think we just want some kind of reassurance that the people moving in will be screened and that it will be nice, quiet middle aged folk who enjoy staying in watching Britain's Got Talent on a Saturday evening rather than having loud parties and covering the garden-y area in cigarette butts! I think we'll also enqire about the possibility of them buying the flat off us... we just found mould all along one wall in our bedroom and we'll be quite happy to move to get away from all the things that are going wrong with the place! Mould for goodness' sake!

Mould is ridiculous in a new build! Don't you get a 10 year guarantee or something with new build?

£56 is a great price Cinny, guess it's just cheaper because you pay up front, and quite a lot of people pay then stop turning up or decide they don't have the time atm etc etc, but the driving instructor has been paid anyway.

Nah I've played down the tummy, one of those embarrassing things to have wrong with you! Have to call up thursday afternoon or friday morning to get the results.
