And now for some exciting news:

:hello:The First Ultimate Incentive Thread Meet-Up! :hello:
Saturday 2nd May, 3pm, Betty's Tea Room, Northallerton.

All I can say is anyone is invited, and there will be cake! Given the frequent foodie themes on here thought it was appropriate location. So far we have 4 confirmed keens, the fantastic Birdie, the amazing Tete, myself, and the not-so-naked NIM.

    D x

Good job, as Betty's is a classy place and although I don't think they have a dress code as such...

No I make him cover his dignity outside the house. I love bettys.... okay I just love the homemade lemonaide and ice-cream with hot chocolate fudge sauce in a little jug, salivating just thinking about it, been needing an excuse to go for ages, and when you said a tea room Tete, sorry my heart was set! Not too expensive either (okay not a bargain) considering our money saving credentials, but we love cake and this is a celebration so I decided not to pick a dive somewhere!

I've never been to Betty's before. The queue at the York one always puts me off. Also I don't think I've ever been to Northallerton so all in all should be a big adventure! I'm off to bed now feeling sorry for myself all stiff and sunburnt, curse my pale skin! :(:(:(

I won't be able to make it, but you lot have fun and have a cake for me too! Of course, for us lot not going we request a nice group shot - big cheesy smiles!

I've been thinking about maybe taking driving lessons(?) If I was to sell my vespa I'd have enough to get an old Ford Ka or another old something and pay for insurance. Plus there's the added independentability factor! Going to look up local driving schools on my lunch break. The lessons would eat up my savings completely though.

Just think Tete - Lovely sunkissed skin in afew days!

NIM - Men are never meant to know where they're going, it's an added surprise factor from your one and only to turn a corner and find out you're heading directly into a clothes shop or a tea shop filled with MSEettes as the case may be!

Best get to the waiting pile of work. Have a nice day everyone!

Driving lessons sound like a good idea Cinny. Why don't you try to make the money from other sources to cover the cost? When I took them it was £30 for two lessons. which is enough for a week, although if you buy in bulk there is usually a discount.

Oooh! Meet up! Bettys! Yummy, chocolate milkshake and pikelets and gingerbread animals...mmmmm!!!!! I've missed so much this weekend I can't keep up with what's going on! Your figures look good though Dinah! And NIM's dream of mounted police sounds fab!Hope the move-y stuff gets sorted out soon Flower, sucks about having to pay 6 months worth of rent up front! At least you won't have to worry about making rent whilst you're there if its already paid though!Your walk sounds fab Tete, it makes our 30 minute stroll around town last night look very pathetic! Can't wait until OH's knee is all sorted and we can go on lovely long walks (although will probably be next summer!). I think you should def go for driving lessons Cinny, I know that driving works out as quite expensive but the freedom that comes with it is brilliant! OH doesn't drive and it drives (unintended pun!) me mad! Bill Plant (think he's nationwide) does quite a good deal on lessons. As soon as we've got the extra cash I'm signing OH up for lessons!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Morning girls, it's my day off but I'm up early putting together a to-do list! It's mostly sorty-outy stuff but there a few MSE bits on there - I need to set up my ISA internet banking and I've decided to close my A&L account which was being used as a savings account until I had enough in to transfer over to my ISA. Because I've decided not to save for a couple of months this account would charge me as it's a current acc which requires a min amount in each month. I've decided to use my old barclays acc for savings in future as I can save however much I want/can each month without incurring charges, so I don't have to have my money flying all over the place at the end of the month - £500 going into A&L and £300 back out. So need to sort that too.

Cinny, I agree driving lessons are a good idea, it gives you so much independence. Vespas are cool but no good in the British climate I feel! Probably a good time to sell it now as you can get about on Darcy over the summer (it's gonna be a hot one I can feel it in my bones, touch wood!) and you'll be passed by the autumn and can get a car for the winter weather! I do think you should pass no probs, after riding the vespa you'll know all the rule of the road and be confident on the road so go for it!

Loved your use of MSEttes too :)

Not so much sunkissed skin - I go red then back to white, though thankfully it's calmed down a bit. Gorgeous day outside but I'll have to stay out of it :(

Off to get in the shower then crack on with my to-dos! I wish I didn't have to work ever!
