Why do you need that much rent up front Flower? Does he have a job lined up up there?
I hope my tummy feels better soon too! NIM is suffering from his first ever migrane so he's being all pouty and still trying to argue to do the ebay stuff before the lad comes back to the forth bedroom (currently full of ebay stuff) in 2 days and it all needs to be gone.
NIM: "No really, it needs to be done, I'm well enough, honest"
Dinah: "You're ill, you have an arm over your eyes and are descrribing your head as like having an ice pick driven into it, get some sleep, the ebay stuff isn't going anywhere"
NIM: "Yes it is - back to the shed!"
Bless him, he's kinda worse than me now for wanting the debt cleared and saving for our own house!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hi All, I've had a wonderful weekend. Been to see my Grannie and some of the rest of my family (I would need a month to see them all). We went to Belfast for my sisters birthday. It was the first time for the other girls and they can't wait to go back. We went on the Belfast aye (not eye) with champane and I took them to see the Crown bar http://www.crownbar.com/ which is an absolute master piece. Back to school tomorrow and I know I'll have to hit the ground running.
On the money front I have come back to two ebay sales. However there is no way that is going to cover me bar/food bill for the weekend.
Lara- Can you not get a STUDENT railcard I think you can get them at any age.
Dinah - I think you have more bank accounts than I have shoes although I am sure my OH would argue that point.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -
NIM - do as you are told - go and take some drugs and go to bed for an hour then if you feel better you can do the ebay stuff later.
Dinah - if he doesn't listen then give him the back of your hand.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Haha, sounds like you've created a monster Dinah!!
Hi Girls! (Loved NIM calling us his 'lovelies' like some sort of MSE harem!) - yikes, have been off work one day and loads of gossip to catch up on! Have clicked on that imaginative traveller link and have it up in a new tab waiting to be looked at
We made it up Scafell Pike on Friday, it was brilliant. Very windy though and a few times I had to throw myself forward to avoid being blown off the side of the mountain! Had a scary drive across to the Lakes though in my banger. Going around Scotch Corner roundabout a weird scraping noise began under the dashboard, OH used to be some sort of engineer dealing with car parts and thought it sounded like my drive shaft (?) which would mean a new car. It continued to make this noise on every bend and corner, then after a particularly violent episode at Rheged Services it stopped altogether and has been fine ever since. So I guess whatever was rattling has either settled into a gap under the bonnet or dropped out but the car's still going so hurrah!! Was thinking I'd have to break into the ISA for a while there and I was not happy!
Had a quiet day yesterday then today decided it would be a good idea to go for a 'short' 6 mile walk to stretch our legs and loosen up our muscles after Friday... so went off for a walk on the moors again - Wainstones, gorgeous - and it's been like a summer's day so I am now still aching and slathered in Nivea cream with a bright red faceOf work again tomorrow though thank god!
Birdie, well done on getting the job even if you didn't take it - you would have been mad to.
Dinah, again you've bamboozled me with your ridiculusly complicated finances! Sounds like you know what you're doing though. Hope your tum's better soon and NIM's poorly head!
Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend!
ETA - ROTE I went to that pub a couple of years ago, it was beautiful!!! As was Belfast, really loved it!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Sounds like everyones has had busy weekends! I can't report the same, spent most of it ironing and have decided I'm putting off having children until I'm atleast 46 so don't have to do more ironing than my own. Or even better, start buying clothes in bright patterns so the wrinkles don't show. Really didn't make the most of the good weather, I did wimper from the ironing board then closed the blinds (mostly too keep the glare off of the TV than anything) Hoping the weather is just as lovely next weekend so I can drag OH out to a pub garden or something - you know the weather is finally fantastic when you see a very fat, slightly pink man refusing to wear a shirt. Sadly it's a horrible weather indicator, but this is England.
Tete - The walks sound fantastic, getting very good use out of your walking coat! Sooooo jealous of you having tomorrow off, but I've had a week off work so I shouldn't complain! What are you planning for tomorrow? Very glad your car sorted itself out! S/he will live to see (drive? roll? brum?) another day!
ROTE - That place looks lovely! Sounds like you've had a great weekend too.
Dinah, I think my noggin has grown and I've become a super brain because it managed to understand all of your bank accounts in goings and out goings for once. I can't believe you're going to be debt free soon! I'll have to make some very special cupcakes, rainbow sprinkles the lot for when you are!
Right, off to make my dinner for work tomorrow. I don't want to go back! But then I don't want to stay home and iron either so I should get a move on. Have a nice night Girls!0 -
No one ever wants to go back, it's because work is rubbish and being a lady of leisure is awesome!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well that long one was mostly news to me. Interesting that you guys find out how my finances are doing/being managed before I do. Trying to figure out how ok I am with that
(Now am I kidding or just trying to prevent D from giving me the back of the hand as was suggested to her by other posters who shall remain nameless, suggesting she beat me indeed. How did you know rote?) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So moving along I think I've found my calling in the mounted police force, I saw the set up that cleveland have at ormesby hall today and I drooled a little. Its everything I ever wanted in a stable and then some.:j All I need now is a yes from the police force
I'll stop now before this becomes a thesis, hope everyone else had as good a day as I did. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
And now for some exciting news:
:hello:The First Ultimate Incentive Thread Meet-Up! :hello:
Saturday 2nd May, 3pm, Betty's Tea Room, Northallerton.
All I can say is anyone is invited, and there will be cake! Given the frequent foodie themes on here thought it was appropriate location. So far we have 4 confirmed keens, the fantastic Birdie, the amazing Tete, myself, and the not-so-naked NIM. It'd be great to meet anyone who is in the area, anyone who wants to come is welcome to bring a friend/boyfriend/husband etc as obviously you're meeting utter strangers off the internet! If there is anyone else who wants to come just speak up so I know what size table to ask for when I get there! I've chosen to wait until I'm DF as a bit of a combined treat and celebration for getting this far, and to meet some of the people who got me there.
For anyone who can't make it, I'm sure there will be more meet ups in the not so distant future, NIM and I are hoping to make it down to London sometime this year, if we can find a suitably uber-cheap deal!
