Ha! So you're the granny, not poor Cinny! Time for another coffee this end too I think. It took me an hour and a quarter to get to work this morning and it put me into a coma state which I've not quite recovered from. The roadworks are going on for another SIXTEEN WEEKS  woe is me!

haha! I think she was trying to cover her tracks. Or werthers wrappers as the case may be.

I rarely have coffee, but when I do I have to have the proper stuff! Thankfully while reaching for the tea bags there was some proper coffee hiding in the cupboard so I'm now awake!

Hi Dinah, another person wanting to say hi and way hey for the inspirational thread, you're going great guns. I have a similar target to you - my new partner is very financially astute, no debt, regularly saves etc etc and eventually we're looking at both of us selling our properties and buying a house together. That day can not come (in my head) before I am debt free and not such a bad credit mess - I want my new life to start in a positive way.

So I'm on a debt clearing mission now. I don't think I'll run at the level you do but I'm going to keep reading your thread to keep me on track. Every penny spent on something non essential is a penny that I'm not throwing at my debt which then will just prolong the time we're apart.

Need to put my total debt in my sig so I can start knocking it off, to be fair since I started clearing it I have knocked about 9k off the total and I have approx 8k to go but it's taken me 2 years to clear that 9k and ideally I want the last 8k to go far quicker. Wow, you know because I just pay whatever I pay I haven't realised before that I am well on my way and over half way there! I have exact figures at home so will update sig tonight.

You've done so well - and out of all the motivators surely love has got to be one of the most enjoyable ones? :p

    Hi Dinah,

Just checking into to say hello, keep reading your diary everyday. My OH has gone away again now and isn't back until 23rd December.
Im trying so hard to clear my first credit card by next January but don't know if ill make it (I have a mortgage and regular monthly bills so can't throw much extra at my debts!) If I can get below £500 before xmas ill be over the moon!

Oh well I guess Id better go off and start listing more stuff on ebay... have a mini challenge to myself to have everything listed by xmas as im fed up of it hanging around!

Glad to hear you still doing well and congrats for getting way past your halfway challenge :)

Is that the Boro sliproad they were on about this morning, the A66 I think it was? The radio compared the traffic jam to magic knickers! There certainly seemed to be more cars on the A19 this morning as a result.

Having to reply to all the lovely new posts one at a time otherwise I get all confused!

    Love your attitude Nixy!

Yep love is a fanastic motivator, makes me do everything I do. I'm a bit ga ga over OH, it's kinda pathetic really, but I'm trying not to let him know how crazy about him I am, nice to have him woo-ing me!

You'll be clear in no time, as you say when you're stood in the shop with a magazine in one hand and a dairy milk in the other, you think of being with your OH and put both of them back as they're not as important! OH keeps brining me big bags of my werthers originals from duty free tho, it'll be a sad day when I run out of the sugar. In fact none of you will hear from me for a while as I will be passed out asleep for several days coming down from my sugar high that has lasted the last 23 years!

Keep up the good work Nixy, and always feel free to post, we make great cheerleaders :D

Sorry to hear your OH is away now Dex, you must miss him loads. I'm on here most of the day and evening if you get lonely and want another lonely soul to talk to. You'd be suprised at how much people are willing to pay for used tat on ebay in the run up to Christmas! You might clear that card yet.

I want some now!! I'm sure my grandad will have some knocking around when I go around tonight after work, when we put the world to rights over a cup of tea (on his end, cola at mine)

That's the one - magic knickers, what, as in squashed in? Probably to try and stop all the cheats who were zooming along the other lane and pushing in at the front despite numerous signs saying the road is closed. Grr, that is my absolute worst peeve about driving, I almost beeped once or twice, but was scared to :o. I was eyeing up the A19 I have to say, it seemed to be moving OK, but I'm sure I'm not the only one and it'll be packed tomorrow. Hope it's not as bad going home now, traffic jams are so much worse in the dark when you're hungry :(
