Why doesn't MSE tell me when I get posts on a Sunday?! Very odd!

Meal went well, boys were all stuffed! I need to make a few bits for my best friends housewarming this weekend, she's doing jacket spuds and rice and pasta, and I would like to take one savory thing and one pud type thing, and maybe some muffins too. So any suggestions for a savory thing to go with rice, jackets and pasta that travels well as it's about an hour and a halfs drive away?!

New Scout room usually opens within a day or two Cinny, I wouldn't worry about it.

Wrote a couple of reviews on Dooyoo yesterday, need to do a few more today. One of my reviews (marriage - is it outdated?) has received some lovely comments, I think I'm much better doing the emotive reviews than the product reviews.

Writing to the bank today to try to get the joint account transfered into my name only.

Spent 6 (yes SIX!) hours last night wrapping parcels. As soon as I was nearly finished something else would sell! In total wrapped 34 items so need to go send those at lunchtime today too.

Only 5 days until OH is back for a week!

  • Dinah,

I can't believe how much your debt is gone down. That is amazing. It literally seems to be disappearing every day. You must be thrilled!

Have decided on my target for this month. I am going to get to 66% of the debt paidoff, which means £801 off the current total of £6086. To be honest I think this is probably a bit of an easy target, as I know I have the regular £200 to Grandad to come out tomorrow, about £340 coming through from paypal, a little bit from Amazon and I have about £80 in petrol milage from work I saved up for 3 months, as well as my annual pay increase coming through tomorrow, which is backdated to March and should be around £200. But I do have some biggish outgoings this month, such as my car tax and need to do OH's Christmas pressies. Would like to set my target as 'clear CC1' (or at least get enough money in ISA to clear CC1!) as that would be amazing, but I think I probably need to pay off OD2 first, and I think £2585 is a very very harsh target! So maybe i could set my target for the month to be:

    Pay £801 from CC1.
    Pay £600 from OD2.
Do 90 Dooyoo reviews between now and Christmas.
Do 90 ebay listings between now and Christmas (but only actually post the listings if a free listings day comes up!).

Thanks CMD, thrilled doesn't begin to cover it! I'm looking on track for clearing by valentines I hope. Although will need a new revenue stream. Running out of books to sell though, but my dad knows the lady who does library services, he's going to ask if any sales are coming up as the last one was a bin bag of books for £5 and I bought 8 bags and made about £1100 back which is a collosal return!

  • That's some return alright! At least the end is in sight for you (through a lot of hard work). Will you turn into a super saver then?

Good luck with your 90 DooYoo target. I think I should set myself some targets like that to get myself motivated.

You're doing so well with your debt, just looked at your sig for the first time in awhile and you've dropped another £2000! :j Hopefully once you've cleared your debts you'll be able to keep it going and get some hefty savings going.

And that's a bloody good return on your £40! Just reading your thread gets me motivated to make some monies, like I fancy going on dooyoo, slice the pie and onepoll now but I can't until later  Not long till you see your OH again either.

Yep I intend to start saving for a house deposit. Although the first thing I will be doing will be treating myself to a new laptop. Nice top of the range Dell as my reward for all this. Mine has no tracking pad, no mouse buttons, and is propped on candle holders to keep it cool as it cuts out if you stand it on the desk. I don't need need one, but it's my reward for doing all this. Plus can sell the old one for parts or something. Although.... mine does still work so probably sensible to put the money towards the house deposit! Have a fairly knackered desktop too that OH just bought me an external DVD drive for as neither my desktop or laptop have a working drive, desktop cant see disks, laptop's drawer doesn't open and it plays at the wrong speed. So now I have my drive between the two computers I actually have everything I need.

I'm a little concerned about getting DF - do I have to leave DFW to go to the savers board?! I like it here and I like my thread! Might keep my account permenantly £1 overdrawn!
