Aww what a romantic crew today! Very funny and sweet stories all round. NIM and Dinah what a lovely couple you make, and I think you complement each other very well. Although NIM I have to say the part about romantic Irishmen doesn't apply to N. Ireland in my experience LOL.

My OH is from the west country. He is definitely romantic, but with nice small things like bringing me booze after a rubbish day's work (today). We make a big deal on those special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. OH is a designer and I trained as a designer too, (although not one anymore) so we also give cards and images to explain the way we feel. Which is sometimes easier than words.

Hi Wendz I'm another Londoner

Flower - criminology sounds amazing! It's totally natural for you to be well hacked off with your course right about now. Definitely give it a bit of time - good luck with the work!

On a moneysaving note, we have got a few cheques for engagement presents from family, which is really naughty of them. So we have a small fund for DIY lust - yay! I think we might get new tops for our desks, as we have laminate offcuts at the moment. I found a cheap way to get nice butcher's block ones is to order a length of worktop. It's still coming in just under £100  Then I will (attempt) to make a roman blind, and I think we will get some new office chairs from the recycling place Greenworks, which are £15 each.

Also I opened a fixed rate ISA with first direct - 3.1% I think. So just have to transfer the spends over now.

    Have a great evening!

OH and I went on a walk to McDonalds (about 30mins at my slow pace!) after dinner to get a free McFlurry (won on one of the monopoly tickets!) and on the way in he saw another little ticket on the floor, it was for a free sundae so we got that too! Our free dessert tasted all the better because of it! Not so good for the diet though....

Watching Kirsty on C4 now, I want to throw my own pot! Oooh, Kath Kidston! Oooh, and Kirsty's got Louboutins on! Jealous!

You're right Cinny, this programme is fascinating, thanks so much for mentioning it to me.

Love the idea of saying it with images Lara, I'm much better with pictures than words too. NIM is the other way, a few months in he wrote me a poem on the back of my bookmark with the intention I would only notice it when I got the book out on the plane home.

Got another £60 through today, £52 from NIM from MS, and then nearly £8 from amazon for book sales, so have put it all in the saver ready for the 2 x £250 payments on the 25th. Still a little over £100 shy of what we need by the 25th atm though!

I'm getting tired of losing clothes, my uniform is slowly disappearing; I lost a jumper a couple of weeks ago and it is nowhere to be seen. It was one of my company issue fleeces before that! My uniform really isn't that nice, why does the clothes stealing monster want it???Days off work are always worth it Tete! Never think otherwise!
Birdie - you have lost your paragraphs and uniform, you will never guess what I have lost - a day, I thought it was wednesday today. I wrote my list and was going to go into school to get some marking done and get started for Monday. OH said "if you hurry the man in the hardware store said they will be open another ten mins". I said why are they closing half day on a wednesday it used to be on a thursday. I then ran around like a headless chicken flapping about my lost day wondering how I was going to fit it all in. I still need to pack for my trip to Belfast tomorrow.

Dinah - I didn't think about it like that the £2 plus the interest that is a really good way to look at it.

Not really sure what happened there, but it put my whole schedule to pot with my dissertation work - not really sure what i did all day on monday. I still feel wierd now, feels like it should be wednesday.

  • I forgot to say while you were away Dinah I got an email from pinecone where you can get £3 to complete a survey. They said that I can refer friends by forwarding the email. PM me if you would like to be referred, that goes for the rest of our happy team. I am away in Belfast this weekend so will get back to you on Monday or late sunday if am not marking.

Aww, looks like I missed a bit of a love in this afternoon! Lots of nice stories and a warm fuzzy feeling inside :happyhear

Lol at you losing a day, ROTE! The Easter bank hols are the weirdest days - I'm always totally confused by Monday :rotfl:

Well, I survived the temptation of Oxford Street and my wallet emerged unscathed. Yay! The open evening was really interesting and I think I'm definitely going to apply for the 4 week TEFL course. ALthough... I've got another interview a week on Monday. Yay again!

Small confession: I treated myself to a half price manicure as a reward. It was only £9 though and I'm spending next week with my dad in the West Country so hopefully it will be a no-spend week!
