Well done Pilchard! It's so shocking about the PPI - seems like they were ripping everyone off for years with that scam.

Well spoke to my Dad and he was well chuffed, so my mind is at rest now, and we're heading back to NI in May so some nice celebrations then.

Well done on your lengths Tete x

That's great news Pilchard :j Hope you're well, good luck on all the jobs!

The £20 has gone out of my bank account to the ISA so that should be up and running soon! Check me out, all growed up and stuff.

    ETA:
Well done with the swimming Tete! If it wasn't for those pesky kids!! (/adults)

Lara: So great to hear your Dad is happy for you! May isn't too far away either.

Glad you've had a good chat with your dad, Lara. I think all dads are a bit weird when it comes to their little girls. Plus it makes them feel old... Once you've all celebrated together it will feel more real I think too.

Hi Pilchard, great news on the PPI! I just got refunded about £1600 - it came off the balance of the loan and not in hard cash, but as I said before, I'm not complaining :)

Exciting about your ISA getting sorted, Cinny, you should be celebrate with some shopping, lol. V. annoying about the security tag though - a boy with some pliers might do the job, depending on the type of tag and if said boy has developed the deadly 'man flu'.

    V. impressed with the swimming Tete! I counteracted the evil spin class yesterday by eating a small mountain of Chinese food tonight - I would feel even more guilty but my lovely mate treated me. It's a relief to have good friends in times of mild crisis!

    Ciao for now, ladies X

Don't worry Poddle, I'll be doing my normal bank holiday online shopping spree on Friday, but this time I'll be in celebration of my ISA, of course! Haven't been sent any details for it though, hoping they fly in the post soon.

Tete - have fun on the training! and a 5 day weekend?! It's okay for some :D

Right, having to help mum clean the house as she's giving me a lift to the hair dressers. Need to go to the local salons to see if I can bid them against eachother on prices for superstar bed head shampoop!

Morning girls, just popping in before I go on my boring training. I'm pleased with it really though as I've come in to an 'urgent' email from my manager asking me if I'm not too busy to do this, this, this, this and that urgently, and am I in tomorrow? Well hahaha, SORRY but I'm off into training now and I'm off tomorrow so you'll have to do it yourself! :D

    Have a good day all :) x

Morning! The next saga of my home has surfaced and I'm soooo gutted I can't even think straight. The rest of the flats in the development (18) have been sold to the Housing Association, we're going to be living in council flats. I can't even think how much they've dropped in value overnight, we'll never get our money back, the place is going to turn into a dump... every chav in Ripon will know the access code to our 'secure' gate, it'll be party night every Friday and Saturday night, they'll be outside on the grass in front of our patio doors smoking and swearing and looking in at our living room and there's nothing we can do! What do I do?????????? :(

Aw Birdie! Try not to worry too much. You say the development sold them so I guess they're new flats? The council will want to keep them nice and will probably put nice people in them? My Dad works for our council and they've recently been renovating and doing up a lot of the blocks of flats and gradually getting rid of the riff-raff as he calls them. The vast majority of people in council housing are lovely, you'll probably get retired old dears moving in and baking you cakes! OK I have to go, will catch up this afternoon x

ETA - could you sell yours to the Housing Association if it came to it? There must be other private owners there too?

Birdie! Sending you a dodgy hug :grouphug: Try not to worry too much, like Tete said they'll be wanting to keep in nice by putting nice people in them. You'll most likely end up with lovely neighbours that just don't have the means to get their own place. Sending the last of the virtual cupcakes your way too!

I hope so, they're new flats and there is only 1 other couple living there. I kind of understand why the builder sold them to the HA but no-one thought to warn us that this was happening, I had to find it out through gossip at work. OH thought it was odd on Saturday afternoon when he was coming home and there was a proper scummy chav bloke standing outside having a look and when he saw OH he said ''Ere, are these f***ing housing association like?' and OH was confused and said they were private! We're so upset about this that we are considering approaching the HA to offer to sell them ours. We had a good month, time to move on!
