I have thought about doing that Birdie, im sure that will be my next venture!! OH gets annoyed with me as we dont have a spare room/study, and our flat isnt that big. I have a box in the front room with all my craft stuff in, he moans that its always in the way. He should be grateful, when im doing my cards its the only time i dont moan about him having the football on.......MEN!!!
It's the only time I let OH play on his xbox so he encourages me to spend as much time as possible 'playing with paper and glue'!
I'm really starting to think that I could sell my cards to people at work, everyone is super impressed with the leaving card I made for the girl going to work in Alps (It's another pop-up one, featuring a skier with her head stuck on!) and a lady has just asked me to make a 40th Birthday card. I'll have to have a think about making lots of cards to sell from my desk and then I can throw that money at my CC, it won't be much but it'll stop me going out and speding in my free time and every penny helps!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. But I suppose until you get to the point where you actually add it all up you are just hiding your head in the sand. I actually thought we had around 14k of debt so what a shock. However until that point I don't think I was truely serious about paying it off. My family and friends don't know but on here a feel safe that no one well judge me.
I think this is really well put, psychologically posting made me face up to it and tackle it, so it's a small step I encourage everyone to take.I'm 23 and really wanting spare money to pay for a wedding and travel and eventually a baby. I'm currently super broody after watching that Louise Redknapp programme last night!.
One step at a time missy! You just got the ring, give yourself to enjoy planning a wedding, you only get to do it once if you're lucky, then some time to enjoy being a wife before you change it all forever. As you say, you're only 23, plenty of time for babies still, enjoy having free time to travel and just have fun while you can.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I know, I know! I don't really want a baby now. Well, I do but I don't! If I had an 'accident' I wouldn't be unhappy but the chances of us having an accident are super slim so not to worry! I just want access to a baby to play with and cuddle, my stupid SIL just will not get pregnant, and most of my friends are single so there's no chance of being even an honourary auntie!
I've already got loads of card making stuff and I'll be sure to buy cheap stuff when it comes to buying more so I'll try to give myself a profit margin! My manager asked me to make a scrapbook of her cousin's baby a little while ago but when I worked out how much it would cost me, both in materials and time it would have been a fair bit and I don't think she was planning on that kind of money! The album alone would have cost £10-£15! :eek:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Smarty pantsseriously though, that's a really good idea as long as you're savvy!
Dinah & ROTE are right about admitting your debts being cathartic - it's scary, but really focuses you. I don't feel like I have to explain anything to anyone on here. There's a story behind everyone's debt and I don't think most people are saying 'god, she's stupid - how did she rack up so much debt!' I'm just pleased to be dealing with it.
So, yay, it's Friday ladies! Anyone got nice plans for the weekend? We know yours Dinah! You should put a countdown in your signatureT-48 hours?!

Afternoon girls! At home, watching a 1940s movie, on the treadmill and on DFW, can I multitask or what?
Birdie that sounds like a great idea! Once your (non radio) wireless is set up you can get on etsy aswell, I love handmade cards but can't make them too well so I know who I'll be turning too come the next birthday! Also you'll have no choice but to buy lots of lovely things tomorrow
I'm going to the cinema tomorrow, then a bike ride on Sunday, what about you Poddle?
Oooh 48 hours! Try not to think of us while you're sipping your first drink!

I've been doing little to no work today, shh! Just been having a little look for dreamy wedding shoes, are these Carrie's wedding shoes? Where's Cinny? She'll know! http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod64820067&parentId=cat13030777&masterId=cat13030764&index=90&cmCat=cat000000cat000141cat13030734cat13030764cat13030777
I also really like the Reddy ones in the little 'You may also like' section, I believe I shall be having a wedding shoe fund in my siggy when I get it sorted!
I'm off to the craft fair on Sunday, tomorrow I don't know what I'm doing. OH has a friend coming over to stay and they're planning on getting very drunk... I'm kind of hoping that my parents have got their new futon set up so I can stay at theirs!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. You should see my facebook - I think at the moment it just says 'camels, Camels, CAMELS, CAMELS!
I admit sometimes you get a new poster, saying 'heres my SOA, and I have £40k of debt, what do I do', and you get all these people saying all the right things, BT to 0%, dmps, contact creditors, reclaim fees, stop paying for gym and sky telly, you're on 13k a year you can't afford 10k in school fees, etc and they just say 'no, i don't think i'd like that' or 'we work hard, i think we deserve to spend 4k a year on holidays'. Drives me batty! No one deserves anything, good or bad, and if you don't have the money you shouldnt be 'treating' yourself!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

They're some serious shoes, Birdie!
I may do a spot of shopping tomorrow for an interview outfit. Just remembered that I still have £60 of Debenham's vouchers left over from my ex-work Christmas bonus! There's something quite nice about thinking the b*stard who made me redundant will be paying towards me (hopefully!)getting a fabulous new job
Otherwise it's a lowspend weekend eating up the vat of free soup I just made and other wholesome activites. Bike ride would be nice as long as is it's not bucketing down like it is now!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
You're right Dinah, some people think that there is a magic solution but there isn't! It annoys me when people take the time to offer help and they refuse to take it. No-one wants to live a pauper's existence but sometimes you just have to realise that you can't afford to live the way you have been, the debt tells you that!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
