There is no shame here Biride, I'm sure there are lots of people in much worse situations, but for me facing up to them and writting it all down made me properly tackle it, and I feel such a sense of achievement every time I can alter my sig.

There are even people on here whose sigs are still going upwards, I think it's brave of them to post that.

Dinahs right, having it there even with savings you feel really good if it goes up or down respectively! Admittedly doesn't take half as much guts as posting debt though.
Saying this, I'm really not looking forward to my total going down when I buy my bike!

You should do it - even if it's just for you to see. Just untick the 'show your signature' box!

That is true! It also means I need to figure out how much I owe though. I think it'll be around the £6k mark. It has shot up thanks to having to buy big things for the flat but I hope that it has settled now and we can start working on getting it down. Once I can find all my paperwork and get my laptop online I will do it. I promise! I'll dig everything out this weekend, OH has been tidying again and moved a pile of bills so they could be anywhere, I found the receipt and guarantee for our little TV that Mum bought him for christmas in one of the little bathroom drawers, nestled between my shampoo and conditioner! Why he thought that would be a good place is beyond me but I daren't ask as he'll just throw a paddy!

You could always put the fact that you've got a fantastic bike in your sig though!

I didn't know you could do that! How do you know I haven't already got a siggy and it's hidden... ;)

Next week I shall be siggy'd up! :money:

    Ooh, mysterious!

haha, that's an idea. '£xxx + One lovely bike!' I keep thinking, I really could afford it now, but I'd just love to reach 1k, even if it all gets drained straight away! As long as I have £500 i'm happy - covers what I owe my parents for OHs computer, and my share towards my sisters birthday present.

Big vitrual cookies and cake for when you do, I admit the first time I actually added everyhting up it terrified me as it was about £2,000 more than I thought it was, but it was really rewarding seeing it coming down again.

    Afternoon everyone!

Dinah you must be getting excited about your holiday!

Payday for both me and OH today (he gets paid weekly so dont have to wait that long!), so rejiggling all the finances around today and trying to pay off some more money onto the debts.

OH has just had a new phone today which has arrived while he is at work, so that will be him ignoring me all night while he messes around with that. Oh well might give me the chance to get on with making some cards in peace and quiet.

Get him to flog the old phone to go towards the debts.

I'm stupidly excited, 50 hours and I will be landed.

Already on the check list, great minds think alike! As soon as he said he had a new phone i was straight on the recycling websites to find the best price. £43 for it, not bad!! So as soon as the envelope arrives for that, it will be going straight towards the debts.

I dont blame you for being excited, im always like a little child when i go on holiday!!

Oooh, Flower that reminds me I must make a batch of thank you cards tonight! We've had a lot of presents from family/friends recently and I've got to send my thanks- don't want them thinking I don't appreciate it!

Cinny, are you basically saying that if you save another £100 you'll get the bike?! Exciting! I'll egg you on until you manage it! YOU CAN DO IT! :D

I really don't want to find out I owe much more than £6k! It'll floor me, I'll definitely be reaching for the cakes and cookies!
