Oh and 7 jobs came up for the airport this weekend, and while I was waiting for a response on what time of day the jobs can be done they all were taken by someone else. So that's £84 we won't be seeing.
That's so annoying when that happens!
I can't believe HSBC are being so difficult - I hate it when your experience depends on the time of day or which member of staff you see. I don't think all the staff read the 'customer service' handbook! and banks are always understaffed at lunchtime (ie. the busiest time) so why don't they do something about it?! And I don't think they should have to run a credit check either - for NIM, yes, but not an existing customer. Grr, I feel your pain!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Its always the same with banks (and post offices aswell come to think of it), you walk in in the quiet times and theres too many staff stood around doing nothing, you walk in at lunch time and theres hardly any staff there.
I hate it with a passion!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Glad it's not just me who finds it such a stupid system. I understand that they need to have lunch too, but surely not all at once?! Really not sure what to do next, whether to call First Direct and see if I can talk to them, or go and just chance it with HSBC, or just leave the whole sorry mess until I see if Alliance & Leicester can do anything useful.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I know, shops I've worked in have had people who come in for 3 hours to cover the lunchbreaks - handy shifts for people with kids I guess - so I don't see whay banks can't do the same. And don't get me started on the Post Office!
I have to say Dinah I'd be inclined to wait and see what happens with A&L. If you Do try and open a new account, or convert a single to a double or whatever, somewhere; won't that add another search on your credit file, thus weakening it even more? I'd say sit tight til you get back from holiday and worry about it then, A&L might have removed their black mark by then anyway...?
Is it Saturday you go?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Sorry all things bank seem to be going wrong at the minute Dinah! At least you'll be in the sunshine on sunday!
Hope you get the job now Poddle, so you can send me fun children's books! For my future children of course... I've never read the Cat Who Wanted to Go Home, it sounds really sweet, how'd I miss that one?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Sounds like a plan, as long as you're not going to stress about it on hols.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Oh yeah, I forgot to say about that, sounds like my kind of book!!
Lol, I think it's by the same author as The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. Actually, I know it is, I've just spent the last hour looking at kids' books on amazon :rotfl: The author is Jill Tomlinson and there are loads of books in the same series! *book geek alert*LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Yeah I think you're right, wait and see if A & L come up with something miraculous that'll mean we can get an account, it's a hassle, but it's not going to kill us to wait another month.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Cinny- Happy Birthday:beer: I am feeling a bit better today I have been on day nurse and night nurse which are great. DD is still feeling a little better I think she is on the mend thank you.
OH has moved balance from one of the cc's over to his that had on balance so that has knocked about 4 months off the DFD which is great.
MIL has just been down to see me with a pair of foot gloves from M&s for school they should have been £39.50 but she got them for £12.00 so MSE. I buy a new pair every september for the start of the year because they are so comfortable. I am on my feet for most of the day so foot gloves are great plus I am only 5 foot so need a heel.
Audio books - I listen to them most nights currently on angels and demons by Dan Brown. I find it a bit hard to read "real" books during term time as by the time I get into bed I am pooped so audio books help me relax.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -
I guess foot gloves are a type of shoe then. not just a sock as I thought when I first read it?! Glad you're feeling better even if you're doped up on non-prescription meds!
Thanks for that info Poddle, might purchase it with my next dooyoo aazon voucher, or add it to the ever-growing list at least!
Have a lovely time Dinah if I'm not on before you go, holiday tomorrow you see and I only really come on here at work (shh)!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
