Morning everyone! Hope you're feeling a bit better today Dinah! I guess if you want to put a positive spin on it you'll be nice a skinny for your holiday! :o I've never heard of fit flops, sound like something I need to look into, especially if they're comfy (they always seem to rub the top few layers of my skin off).

Aw Cinny, sounds like you've had a fab time - I love Cath Kidston! I agree with Birdie about the £20, we'll let you off as it's your birthday :D

Was Dad's birthday yesterday so had our trip to Beamish, which he LOVED - he's going back in the summer to spend a longer day there bless him . Also saw one of those trips to London - train plus two nights in a hotel for £69, bargain - OH and I were going to check about getting time off for this weekend then book it today, but we won't be because WE HAVE FINALLY BOOKED PARIS :T I'd sort of given up on it but OH rang out of the blue last night to say he'd found some Eurostar tix for £87 rtn each for June, which is about the best you can get from up here, so we're booked! Still have to look for a hotel though but I'm on the case :)

Off to do lots and lots of printing now so have a good day everyone!!

Uh-oh Cinny, step away from Cath Kidston! There's a CK shop in Harrogate that I always have a little mooch around when I go but luckily it isn't that big and most of the stuff is quite kiddy so I'm safe! For now...

I didn't get a walk yesterday, OH's parents came around and decided to take us up to Teeside Park for FIL to get a blu-ray player and MIL and I went to Hobbycraft, we then had to go straight to my parents for dinner so I didn't get anything done that I wanted to! I'll have to attack my to-do list tonight!

I think I'll just have a look on the fit flop site... my pair are navy blue (bought them when you only had a choice or blue, red or grey) and I fancy some more summery looking ones!

Yeah, what Birdie said :D When is it you go?

Je voudrais un sandwich au thon - the only French I know! Oh, and I can ask for a beer, my father taught me well.

I'd love a Cath Kidston closer, actually I wouldn't, I'd be very well dressed but very very skint!

Moi, je suis tres heureuse aussi, mais je dois vraiment pratiquer mon francais avant d'y arriver! Or else OH will think I'm a fraud :D We go Sat 6th June - Tue 9th, three nights so only two full days, though the train back isn't til 4 so we have a bit of time on the Tues. I really want loads of new clothes to swan about in now though :o:o

    Oh yes, completely!

As for clothes, you could just get yourself a few new cardies, and some beaded necklaces (the bigger ones - from primark or matalan) spruce up skinny jeans, flats and a plain shirt really well. Really comfy for site seeing too. Just a MSE idea! Depending when you go shopping you might catch the pre-summer sales and be able to get some pretty spring dresses or skirts!

Yey on Paris Tete! I'm insanely excited about Egypt now, possible bonus of being sick the last week, I've lost two inches off my hips and another 2 off my waist, so the sickness bug has done more than the gym managed in two months to get my bikini ready! We went a bit mad in giant Tesco yesterday, two pairs of shorts for me, three for him, three t shirts for him, some leather sandals and some flip flops for him, a sarong, a big floppy hat, two bikinis, two pairs of sunglasses, two long skirts, a floaty overdress, two strengths of suncream, aftersun, 2 very large bottles of dry water hand sanitiser and a load of reduced price bread! Came to £155 all in, which I guess isn't actually that bad for the sheer ammount of clothes we got!

Where did you see the £69 to London?! NIM has never gone so I would be very very tempted to book that if the offer is still available.

Only stuck £30 of petrol in the car today, if I can get a lift in with dad one day then that'll be enough to see me to Friday, and then I'm not going to need the car for two weeks. I've learnt a valuable lesson in the past : Never ever leave petrol in your car when you go on holiday, your mum will borrow it and there will be none left when you get back!

NIM, brother and I made a mothers day tea yesterday, complete with a very large strawberry and vanilla sponge cake I made with marzipan (ewww) pigs on top. Everything we took through mum had a comment to make though, admittedly we didn't start off so well with brie and jam sandwiches!

NIM hasn't gotten a call back about the farm job, doesn't look good. He's really disapointed, he thought the interview went really well and he loved the sound of the job. He's going to have to go hell for leather on the applications when we get back from holiday.

Sounds like you got a great haul there Dinah! I keep on seeing those adverts for Tescos spring clothes on the telly, so hard to resist!

My mum has the same views on leaving a car with petrol in - only it's my brother who has been known to use it! Plus, the next £30 it costs to fill it up is much better off in your pocket to buy pretty things with than your petrol tank. You'll have a fantastic time, starting to get a little jealous now!

That's a shame about NIMs interview, but there'll be something better around the corner for him.

Going to look at Pashley bikes on Wednesday morning, there's a shop in my town that has just got them in. But for £500, if I want one I'm going to have to seriously up my biking!

Ton francais est tres bein maintenant, je pense que tu n'est pas besion de practiquer plus! (errr, did that make any sense? I haven't really spoken it since college!)

I'm so jealous of all of this holiday talk! And spring clothes shopping! :o I'm not convinced that we'll get away this year; I've just heard that my job is at risk and we're starting the 30 day consultation period today... eek!

What the hecky pecky is a Pashley bike? For £500 I'd want it to pedal for me!

Aww that sucks about your job Birdie. Hope it works out in the end.

We're hoping at least one more holiday this year, not sure where NIM thinks the money is going to appear from!

Pashley is a make of bike, really classic ones too! Sadly it doesn't pedal for you, but you could sit on the handle bars and get your OH to do the work instead. This is the one; http://www.pashley.co.uk/products/princess-sovereign.html

Yikes about your job Birdie! Maybe once things are stable you could take a few holiday days off and just spend them going to nearby places instead? Was just about to ask after the DOTD, but I think the last thing you'll be needing is to be found gawping over pretty dresses!
