An excuse to read all day long sounds like the perfect holiday to me!
No real plans, well, family friends 18th tomorrow evening, living north fair on saturday, sunday off, monday I have to go to the doctors and then I want taking care of the rest of the day as it will require a local anesthetic and they make me woozy!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I only booked it yesterday (£108 for 3 nights, not too shabby!) and now i've just read the weather forcasts and it's rain rain rainy rain. Doubt it will change much before we go OH is wishing for snow. Bless!
Sounds like a nice weekend! Bar going to the doctors on monday. But if you can get OH to wait on you hand and foot while you're woozy it can't be too bad!0 -
Hi Dinah, I've only just started to read your thread and I'm really pleased things are going well for you. It's given me hope that things can get better. I'm going to subscribe so that I can keep updated
. I may even decide to set up my own diary
As you seem to love books like me, I have loads all over the house much to the annoyance of my beloved husband :rotfl: , have you thought of selling on green metropolis? Sorry if this has been mentioned in the past.
I have a few listed on there and so far have sold one :j, which is more than I ever managed on Amazon.Sealed Pot Challenge Member 015 - Target £50 (2015=£70; 2014=£74.40; 2013=£61.76; 2012=£82.50)

Morning all, I found myself uncharacteristically looking at my bookshelves last night on the verge of putting about 60% of the books on readitswapit  - I know I'd end up regretting that so I've picked out a couple that I've got duplicates of and put them up to see how it works. I can see myself getting very addicted to it!
Cinny, 3 nights in Cumbria sounds like heaven - I almost like it more when the weather's awful!!
Dinah, you must be dancing about the office in excitement are you? Have a good weekend!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Good morning all
Dancing would be putting it mildly. Although I think I got dressed in the dark. Black and white dress, turquoise heels, fushia scarf, red handbag and to top it off I have an orange carrier bag to carry some of my parcels!
I have 39 books curerntly on green metropolis but they've been there nearly 2 months and not a single one has gone. Compare this to the 300 or so I've shifted on Amazon and I'm thinking of moving them over to readitswapit.
Have about another 15 parcels from ebay to send today, and 4 book swaps. Also sold one big textbook on amazon which will make a 3p loss but at this point I'm in too good a mood to care!
I have about 100 books on readitswap it at the moment, it said when I signed up I can only have 5 swaps at a time, but I seem to have 6 active swaps as people can still request off me, I'm a little confused.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm half hoping for terrible weather as I have a couple books I want to read but don't have time for! But if OH has anything to do with it i'll be dusting off my walking boots and finding my waterproofs.
I'm jealous of all you keeping books!! I have to send off a bag of books to the charity shop quite often. I have no shelves in my room and this is what happens if I get too many books:

so it's a constant battle between what book stays and what one goes!
I bet you're counting down the minutes!! Have fun!0 -

Is that your picture? If so, there looks to be loads of room there to me - you're limiting yourself by packing them up the sides. I actually started an overflow pile by the side of my bed a few months back - big mistake as it has now multiplied itself into two piles like some kind of living organism.
Re. walking in the Lakes, OH is desperate for us to go up Helvellyn but every time we've had a free weekend the weather's been horrendous. We even drove over there a few weeks ago to chance it but we could barely see the foothills for the rainclouds let alone the peak, so we gave it a miss and came home. As soon as we crossed the Pennines of course, blue sky and sunshine
Sounds like a fetching ensemble Dinah, I particularly like the sound of your turquoise shoes! And your mention of a handbag reminded me that my strap snapped this morning on the way out of the house , so that's another thing on the shopping list for the weekend (Might seem strange but I'm not a handbag fetishist at all, I like to have one bag that I use all the time that I can keep filling with more and more junk until....:o)Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
No I'm the same way, one bag per year pretty much, was £180 in Fenwicks, but then it was £120 in the sale but I still couldn't justify it. Then I saw it in TK Maxx a month later for £35 so I got it then! The shoes are actually the best part of the ensemble, had no problem spending £240 on them but they are insanely comfortable, and get me a lot of compliments, and vitally give me the extra 5 inches I need to be able to kiss OH without kricking my neck!
I climbed Helvellyn when I was younger, would love to go up it again but OH seems to have an unnatural fear of all things natural! He doesn't see the point for walking for walkings sake where I just love being outside, plus it's free and good for me and it's just so life affirming and makes me feel really positive. Although not at this time of year, now it's just damp!
Work computer has blocked that picture, appears to think it's a threat!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well I had a little look in TK Maxx at dinnertime and saw a lovely patent purple bag, but it's even bigger than my current one! OH already says I'm like a royal marine going off to war
I did get myself a rather nice very heavy orange glass bowl though to out my odds and sods in, I do have a penchant for coloured glass.
The weather's meant to be nice on Sunday so Helvellyn is a distinct possibility, but we're at a party on Saturday night so might see how it goes.
I've had my first swap request on RISI, about half an hour after I put my books up, and I think I'll take them up on it - how exciting!!!
Just noticed your sig there Dinah, not far off the £8k mark now!!!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
