Didn't get all of my tiny to do list done last night as dad asked me to do some typing for him as I am much much quicker at it than he is. Still took me the best part of three hours though. He did let on that he knows the head of library services though, and he's going to try to get some inside knowldege for me of when the next library sale is. Went to one about 2 years ago, a bin bag of books for £5. Came away with 8 bin bags as that was all the car could hold! They told me any books that didn't tell went in a skip, I felt an urge to try and rehome them! Maybe I ought to set up a book sanctuary for unwanted books like they do for pets......Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hi there!
Thought I'd say hi instead of just reading! Another few mins of lurking instead of working
( Girls don't listen to other girls as they think they must have an ulterior motive. How cynical are we! )
I have been keeping up with the posts on here and was shocked when it was mentioned that crimbo is only 6 weeks away! Only 40ish days! omg....
I think this time last year I was silently panicking wondering if people would mind if I accidentally 'forgot' to buy presents. Thankfully I'm a bit more prepared this year - well at least I've got some cash put aside! Thanks to MSE that is!
Great to see you doing well Dinah93, hope that you continue to smash that target down - whilst inspiring us all to get off our backsides0 -

Thanks for your lovely post little miss uni-debt. Have seen your diary before. Have you started AQA yet? I'm curious about how it works, if you have to sign up for set shifts or just log on when you feel like it and so on.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Bought almost all of mine, just OH to do. Not quite sure what to do with him though, it's only just been his birthday and I used up most of my ideas!
Same prob here, his birthday's not for another couple of weeks, but he's already had one of his pressies after he kept threatening to buy it himself  and I was running out of ideas about how to put him off! Then he had a big rant last night about how I'd better not have spent a lot because he doesn't do birthdays, you guessed it, right after I'd been out and spent a packet
As regards Christmas, I haven't been very prepared either and have spent so much this month that I'm running out of money and have had to transfer some of my monthly savings back over  I know that's what they're there for but still...! Once you've got your debt down to 0 watching your savings mount up becomes the new obsession I promise you!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I'm more concerned what he's doing to his new gf, as the photos ive seen of her she's so happy and 'new' looking, and I hate the idea he's gradually eroding some other girl's confidence and self worth. But hey, she'd never listen to that from me, she'd think I was jelous. It's horrible how women automatically think other women generally are a threat as opposed to an ally.
Eek! I'm trying not to be paranoid now and think "I'm happy, I hope he's not gradually eroding my confidence and self-worth" I certainly wouldn't listen if his ex came up to me trying to tell me how awful he is. I'm sure he's a gem though, I'm sure...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Have had pepsi cravings all day so went to get a bottle at lunchtime, and some more toffees (sugar junkie, me?!) and got 3 giant smartie tubes.... I would like to think they are for Christmas pressies but I doubt they'll make it that far!
Have made a decision after just posting a book for a 28p loss. Anything on Amazon for 1p I think I'm just going to put straight on readitswap it and treat myself, since its not worth it for the 2p gain vs 28p loss if it is slightly too thick!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sounds wierd that I want to warn her I know, but no one should go into it and end up feeling the way I did, and she's a stranger to me but I'm still worried she's not safe. I in no way regret breaking up with him, and i'm not remotely jelous of her, i just feel bad that someone else is now going through it but there is nothing I can do to stop it. He was violent to me and to his mother, and I didn't believe it from his mother when she tried to warn me off, I even didn't believe it when the very behavour she had warned me about started to appear, sounds crazy I know.
Yikes, could you and his mother both tell her?! But then where do you draw the line? Are you going to keep tabs on him for the rest of his life periodically warning off every girl he's with? Could just get B*ST*RD branded on his forehead, would save you a lot of work!
As for the books, 2p profit?! What are you thinking? Get yourself some new reading matter from readitswapit, pronto!! you'll have the time to read as you won't be packaging so much up every night!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
