The ultimate incentive to get debt free, can I do it by New Years?

Morning all.
Yep I've always turned to shopping to cheer myself up. Just when NIM is here I'm too busy to have a chance! I'd love to think one day I will be able to go shopping again and not have to worry about what I spend, but I doubt it somehow! Still need to get some shorts and sunglasses for Egypt. Think we're going to hold off on venice, despite the crazy bargain, until NIM has another job as at the moment it's just coming out the savings.
House total was about £560 on Friday Tete, but basically my ISA is now house deposit money instead of being withdrawn to pay off the CC2. So all house deposit totals are joint with NIM. It will go up again a bit in a week or two when his ISA opens and money goes in. Then it'll become a much slower process.
I think that 7% ISA might be a good choice if it's for next year. We can have that for regular savings, and NIMs ISA for overflow savings.
It's a great start to the house deposit saving though Dinah, you will get motivated straight away! You are lucky too that you can stay at home when you are saving, that will make it go up a lot quicker. My brother and sister did that and they saved in no time and both have lovely houses. As for me, well I flew the nest at 17. I have always been fiercely independent and have loved to travel.
Your last thread made me quite excited as I can't wait for OH to finish uni now so we can pay off the rest of our debts and save up for property number 2. This time I want a house though!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Lol yeah I'm afraid I'm planning on entirely missing out the first rung (flat) or two (2 bed terraced or similar) of the property ladder and go straight into a family home so I know we don't have to move for at least 7 years, hopefully longer if we can save a bit more! Once NIM's little extra has gone in, we ought to have at least 5k, but in reality that depends on how much he ends up spending while he's in Ireland this week, as it will certainly be more expensive than if he was here.
The books have been rolled forward to this weekend, although on the plus side it *might* (she looks outside at the frost) be warm enough to take the laptops outside and list all the books there. That said, I'm a little wary of the books as I don't want loads of sales while I'm in Egypt. More than likely I will just be able to give mum my email login and ask her to check it every few days. I think I have internet addiction, the thought of going 2 weeks without the thread, the moneymaking, the free scratchies etc makes me shake.
Speaking of free scratchies, we won £5 on NIMs Butlins account yesterday.
I relisted a load of ebay items, for the simple reason that if I didn't I would have lost the listings to the 2 month mark. 3 have bids on, but if they sell I'll actually be at a loss anyway, as it will all just go to paypal anyway which will gobble it up and give me none back, but I will still need to post.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

- Change address on my drivers licence, and order NIM an English one
- Do Dooyoo reviews (aiming for 20 between the two of us)
- Do 50 STP tracks per day (this one is mainly on NIMs shoulders, however if he gets loads of extra shifts, clearly this might be dropped), total STP by 23.59pm Sunday = get up to 400 total ever done on NIMs account
- Get NIM a list of comic shops to call about the comics
- NIM calls comic shops/makes a list of comics to email anyone who is interested
- Do the 6 MS shops I already have lined up for this week, try to get some more for both NIM and I for this week and next.
- Get NIM to finish applying for GFK Mystery shopping as he needs to do the test
- Get NIMs ISA opened.
- [strike]Transfer money to CC2 to pay off my section[/strike], and NIMS £120 to pay off his rent to parents so far.
- Write letters to the 10 catalogue shops I didn't know I had accounts with and ask them to close them
6/17.... it's going downhill. But to be fair, we'd planned on doing the MS, books and ISAs over the weekend. This weeks list, I don't believe will be entirely done at all, as NIM is away half the week, then thinks he will get extra shifts at work the other end of the week. However I am listing it all so I don't forget it!

Morning all! I've been internet-less all weekend, hopefully OH will be sorting broadband today (actually must text him to remind him!) so I'll be able to get online out of work soon!
Move went OK, we're all settled in now and it looks very nice, we're really happy... apart from the leak we had yesterday! The waste underneath the bath wasn't attached properly and all of the water from our showers went into the cupboard next to the bathroom. We didn't notice this as the cupboard was full of stuff to sort this week, we only noticed when we saw a wet patch growing in the kitchen! We had to call out the developer's handyman to fix the problem, pull up the sopping wet carpet from the cupboard and throw everything that was in the cupboard into the spare room that I'd just sorted out and made nice and tidy! What a nightmare; I'm calling the developer later to have a good moan and ask for new carpets and money to replace everything that was ruined in the cupboard!
I'll post a DOTD in a bit (once I find one!) as you seem to have missed having one!
And I'm feeling very jealous of all of this Paris talk, I really want to go! OH has announced that if he keeps his job (fingers crossed!) he's going to use his insurance money to take me on holiday! :jOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
DOTD! I think I'd have to wear mega magic knickers with this to shrink my hips but it could be worth it!

Since I've deprived you of the DOTD for so long, I'm going to give you a Shoe of the Day today too!

I absolutely love the dress and shoes. That kicks the first one out of the water. Love it, love it, love it!

Afraid that one doesn't grab me. But then I'm not a big fan of shiny materials, so would never go for satin. All your DOTDs are making me see I'm going to be much more traditional if my turn comes around than I ever thought I would be!
Haven't heard from NIM yet today, know the removal is today so is busy, emotional day. Or he could just still be asleep. Either way I miss him!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

You could always send him a sweet text to get once he wakes up / has a moment Dinah?
That's a royal bottom about the leak Birdie, thankfully it sounds like was easy to fix. I think you're right about getting some money back for it - sounds like the guys who fitted it did a rubbish job. On the other hand your DOTD is very nice! I couldn't wear it myself but it's still lovely, and those shoes are fantastic!
Just printed off the Pulp Fiction stencils for OHs birthday cake, looks tricky! Might have to make most of the details up on my own though.0 -
Shame about the flat Birdie, least it is covered by the building company for such issues. Hope you get it sorted today.
Already sent him a text, but he is truely diabolical at replying to them!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I can't comment, I'm just as bad when OH sends me text. I read them and figure out a reply in my head then get distracted, then think I've replied! Even if he hasn't text back yet, I'm 100% sure he's missing you just as much as you're missing him.
My bank account is looking so low! I had a really spend thrift weekend, yikes.0
