We'd need to save about £60-£70k for our 'average' dream house, so we're in a much worse boat!

What percentage is that?! I'm just looking at small first-time buyer type homes ... if we're talking DREAM houses I want a converted windmill! First two I found online = £600,000 and £1,600,000!! Eek!

My 'dream house' is a house I'll be living in until my children put me in an old folks home. 2 bedroomed victorian house I pass on the way home from work, big garden behind and period features! *sigh* 130k right now, not that I keep on checking or anything.

I can't really help with that; I've been comfortable with the idea since I performed my first wedding between Barbie and Ken! I've always known I'm destined to be a wife and mother, I blame it on my comfortable small village upbringing where no-one got divorced and there were no kids with unmarried parents!

Dinah, you should go try on dresses! Although it might end up with you coming out in a rash, like a certain Ms Bradshaw.
