Hmmm, just elope? Or if you must get married with an 'audience' drink a bottle of champagne first for dutch courage! And watch lots of weddingy programmes and films to get used to it all in the run up.:rotfl:

I think I need to get comfortable with the whole process so NIM wouldn't have to talk me down from the ledge every time I had to help pick a venue/hymns/flowers etc. And being drunk for a year (and actually would ideally like longer than that!) during the engagement isn't a great plan for my liver! I've been having wedding nightmares for months now. Generally, there are sharks down the aisle, the church is on fire and I can't get out, and in all of them NIM isn't there, and part of me knows he went to another church....

OK, you're worrying me now! Maybe he should go on 'Don't tell the Bride' and organise it all and you can just turn up and get it over and done with!

Lol would save a shed load of money, they give you £12k don't they?! And I'd only have to be drunk for the two weeks it took to organise it! Not actually engaged ofc, just NIM was brining up the subject last night, so I have to find a way to be okay with the step after the 'oooh pretty jewellery' stage!

You're terrible Dinah! I'm sure once you're there planning it, with all your lists and what not you'll love it.

    Hi Dinah,

I wish you the best of luck with this. I hope that by New Year I too will be well on my way to becoming debt free. So I shall watch your progress with interest and with enthusiasm that you can do it!
