The ultimate incentive to get debt free, can I do it by New Years?

Can't believe you're still not moved yet Birdie! It's a disgrace! Some people are timidly whispering that this is the bottom of the market and buyers are coming back. I kind of hope not as I still can't afford anything!
Really? From what I've looked at on the internet, the prices don't seem all that cheap compared to before the 'crunch' (only fantasy looking of course). I'd hope they'll go down for a couple of years yet so they're at their lowest just as I've scraped together a deposit!
I like the little £1 sushi trial boxes from M&SEspecially the soy sauce in the shape of a fish!

The Soy sauce was shaped like a fish in mine too! I'll have to tell my mum about the M&S trays, she loves it.
I was thinking that yesterday, maybe when I move out the house prices will be insanely low. And that my saved deposit will cover some of the house price too.. hm. Maybe wishful thinking there. Not moving out for years yet!0 -

That is secretly the reason why I want to like sushi, the cute soy sauce fish!
I don't like talking about 'the market' it makes me feel all wibbly and like we've made a mistake but it'll be fine... I hope! You're not the only one who's forgotten that I'm waiting to move, OH and I are so used to living out of boxes now that we keep forgetting to see if we're any nearer to actually moving! It'll be weird having stuff in drawers and cupboards again, I think we'll just keep the boxes...
I shall take up Cinny's advice and do my coffee exercises this afternoon and hope for the best!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Thats a step at least Lara. How long has this been going on for?
Hey NIM
I have been living on my savings since I finished work in the middle of December, and my money runs out at the end of Feb.
I still having savings as you can see from my sig - but that's for a house deposit, so I'm desperately trying not to dip in! I have been doing some bits of work freelance, which pay the rent for March. Not looking forward to going back to work, but it will be nice to have the cheque!!
How's your new job going NIM? Are the people nice?
Birdie - I hope you get your house sorted soon x:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
I seem to think you need at least a 20% deposit these days? So that's £20k at the very very least (in the NE), so depressing!
I'm sick to death of return-rating bloody dooyoos! Just read a 400 word review of a fridge magnet! I mean for god's sake!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Lol. Yeah I've been told reasonably to get decent rates to aim for 25% although this may well rise to 30% shortly. So we're trying for about 50k (don't think NIM knows this) over the next 2 1/2 years or so (don't think NIM knows this either)....
But you're right, prices haven't dropped much by and large, certainly not enough to get me thinking 'I could afford that and still have a life'!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
