Because the chatter on here is very intellectually challenging!
Nah, I mean the complete 'nothingness' that 20 something bimbos seem to talk about. I can't even pretend to keep up with it! If only they tried to read a book or watch the news there may be hope, but sadly not!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I don't see it as a label, I see it as a explanation for my whole life! Like you say, a light has been switched on! I've never fit in properly with my peers, never got the inane chatter and silliness of girlfriends... I always seemed to be on a different level. Not better or worse, just different. It's nice to know where I fit now and I make jokes about my 'Autistic Head' but it is how I deal with never feeling like everyone else!
You have the right attitude. I'm sure it was horrible going through life feeling a bit removed from people around you but not knowing quite why. I also think it is great that you have a sense of humour about it and can have a joke. You sound like you don't take yourself too seriously. My type of person!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Indeed
I get what you mean, I've never been massively into gossip, my elder sister comes at me with it but I don't have a clue. Ask me about the news or a good book and I'm right on the mark!
Right, £250 for the caravan for a week, with a £50 deposit but it's by cheque so I'll have to have a knatter with my mum about it. gonna give OH a cheeky ring about it.0 -

Thanks! There's no point worrying about things you can't change so you might as well smile at life and get on with it! My OH is great with me too; I have this 'thing' where I get something in my head and have to do it there and then, whether it is driving 45mins to Hobbycraft on a whim (like I did the other week!) or just getting a can of coke at 10pm, he sometimes gets in my way to see how far he can push it and I end up walking around in circles getting all 'flappy' about it. It's really funny but I can't do anything about it so we have a good laugh when he eventually lets me get past him!:rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Have to say I get some obsessions myself, whether it is getting addicted to a computer game or getting a can of coke at 10pm at night as well! Your OH sounds brill!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I get what you mean here. I can't stnd the vacious nature of a lot of the bimbos my age, I have never read 'hello' etc in my life, I couldn't care less what diet Victoria Beckham is now on, or which is the new 'change your life' perfume. The only magazine I read is Psychologies because I like how it makes me think about things.
In the end we paid £560 exactly each, as we upgraded from the Creative Mexicana to the Sharm Inn Amarein, and as we got the airport transfers and an in flight meal each (5 hour flight, I need as much entertainment as I can get!).
Work just did a blind taste test of all the new Walkers crisps flavours (bajji mmmmm, fish and chips bleurgh) - I love it when the manager has a day off, loads more fun!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Don't we all! My colleague's wife is a psychology lecturer and she says most men are "on the [autism] spectrum" and to be honest I think most people are to a certain extent. Like me at the minute, ploughing on with a book I'm not enjoying because I can't not finish it . I'm not trying to trivialise fuller-blown autism, but I do think we all have a bit of it in us!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Totally agree. I did an exercise once where evryone wrote down their morning routine and then you swapped it with the person beside you. You then had to imagine that their morning routine was yours. It was terrible as some people got up really early just to put on make-up, where I don't!!! They reckon that most people are very 'autistic' with their morning routine and like everything to be the same every day.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I was most impressed by the builders breakfast! They managed to get every taste in there, I can't see them selling too well after the novelty has worn off though.
All this holiday talk is making me feel summery! If I don't look out the window it could be summer as the office is all bright and sun shiney. Just seen pictures of the caravan and I'm stupidly exticed now!0
