You're right, I can't wait, been nearly a month since I saw him. We're going to Center Parks for the weekend as a family, I got us a 3 bed house there for 4 days as my parents Christmas present. It's my birthday while we're there, going to be having a wobbly about turning 24, still living at home, working in a job I cam't stand etc etc so at least I'll be in a nice setting!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That will be lovely thing to do at the weekend! I reckon a lot of 24 year olds still live at home so I wouldn't worry too much about that! You can always move out when your debts are paid off!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Nah I'm not going anywhere until I'm married or can buy myself a house for just me - could be still here at 30 then!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Not at the rate the house prices are dropping. You might have something by June!!! It will be easier when you and OH are saving together!
Myself and my OH are hoping to save for a deposit for a house when he finishes. We have a flat already but it is in Scotland and we now live down South so will start all over again and sell the Scottish flat when the prices go up again!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

So much for back to savings, just subscribed for 6 months to essentials magazine - I wish I was more like you Dinah, I'm too impulsive for my own good. And it normally costs me  And I broke my glasses today (currently taped back into place) so I can look forward to one expensive trip to specsavers this week.
Going to center parks sounds loovely, which one is it? Me and OH were thinking of going to one for our 2 years this winter so it would be good to know what you think of it when you get back. And don't worry about turning 24 and still being at home, rather that then living on your own with masses of bills, right?0 -
Wow, your thread moves so fast. It has just taken me two evenings of reading to catch up. I have been so busy at school but have managed to sell 26 items on ebay this month which is a big deal for me as I have never sold anything before the start of this month. I downloadabled tutorlister last night and listed 10 new item but when I opened it today they were gone, God knows what I did, I have a degree in IT and still managed to mess it up. Your sales are amazing are you just selling dresses or do you have other items listed? My dining room currently looks like wishy washers lundary but I just keep telling myself I am make money on tat I no long want and it's getting rid of it out of my house. Hope to be back sooner rather than later. ROTETotal debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

If you don't stop spending young lady I'm going to come down there and haul you in front of your grandad! You should still be saving for your BFs laptop now, and you were doing well with that, can you not set yourself a holiday target or something instead to aim for? Your signiture looks too empty and aimless - get yourself a challenge!
Nah I'm not really worried, I love it at home and get on great with my parents. Nowhere else could I live this cheaply and happily to save my house deposit. Technically we might be able to move out sooner, but I don't want to be in that position unmarried again, certainly not in a bought house. Also I want as much of a deposit as I can before I buy, at least 30k. In addition OH is hoping to get on the PGCE course in September, so it'd be mad to buy somewhere until we know where he'll be working in 2010. He's currently waiting to find out if he can get on a science top up coure with the Open University. Registration closed a few weeks ago so he'd be a late starter, and technically his law degree is a bit of a grey area on whether it's relevant enough to qualify him for the course, however its the one the teacher development agency recomend for people without a science degree who want to teach science, so something somewhere needs to fall into place!
Have spent this evening doing the next painting for OHs series, have done the drawings, got it onto canvas, and painted the background, took 3 layers of paint as for some reason it kept huddling into clumps as though afraid of the canvas, I'm thinking maybe the canvas has some kind of protective spray on it. Am now knitting some more of the scarf while watching Dragons Den, I think Saturday is my creative day!
Got 4 Dooyoo reviews done today, a guide made a suggestion on one of them, to write about the destination I went to, which as there is very little on Limerick on the site, I think I will make my mission tomorrow.
We're going to the Whinfell one, been to the Sherwood one before but this one is a bit closer which matters when it is just a weekend. If you are willing to book very last min there are some great offers, there was the penthouse flat, usually over 1k for a weekend at £299 a couple of weeks ago.
Turbolister is a fairly unstable programme ROTE, sometimes you can search for the backup folder and load it manually and it works again, but I so tend to upload immediately so I have an online version too, and relist from the online version if it doesn't sell. I'm mostly selling my old clothes, but also some guitar books, hairdriers, photo frames, and old stuff I don't want, as well as a handful of items I picked up in Monsoon in Limerick for 5 euro each. Too cheap to resist, and these are the ones none of my family fit/wanted. 26 items is more than one a day, that's really good. I'm usually at about 30 a month, but because I was off sick and so bored I got loads done this month. Still have 44 left to finish, of which 23 will sell, totalling another £97.87. With postage etc I think it's going to take me over my paypal limit, which concerns me! I have that attitude too. There are a few things I didn't really want to sell, but my curtain pole in my bedroom is a permenant extension of my wardrobe, and I really can't get any more clothes in here.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hey Ladies
Cool loads of news Dinah - under 4k w00000t! Also very nice to be heading on holiday with the family. Don't worry about being 24 - gosh you'll have that 30k saved up in no time.
And you have a great career. I didn't realise you didn't like your job atm - is it a bit too quiet at the moment? Or would you like to do something different? I am 27 in a couple of months and going back to Uni for another 5 years LOL!!! Things never quite turn out how you imagine them to, do they?
So your OH is heading towards teaching? How cool. That's the 'family business' in my family. My Dad is a science teacher, but he just retired. He has got grey hair and his nickname in school was 'the silver fox' (!) Is your OH sure about science? I know some schools in England offer Law as an A-Level choice. Best of luck to him - I am sure he will get onto a PGCE course no problem.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
He wants to teach secondary school level, he's utterly sick of law I think. He was toying between chemistry, physics and DT (all of which he has A-level equivalents in).
I do have a great career, it just really bores me. I thought it would be challenging and stimulating, but turns out I hate being in an office. Plus with the downturn I struggle to fill the time. Not really looking forward to going back! So my plan is a head down slog for a few years so I can afford to give up work when I have kids and work for myself, not sure what I want to be doing yet, but something creative, painting or sewing or writing, have to see which direction I'm pulled in. But to do that I'll need a small mortgage, so I need to be careful now.
Cat is poorly today, seems to have a funny tummy. Can't work out why though.
Todays to do list:- Mi-info
- One poll
- Daily surveys
- Free scratchies
- 3 Dooyoo reviews
- Wrap rest of the parcels that have been paid for
- Have a bath and straighten my hair rather than leaving the usual curly mass so I look decent going back to work tomorrow
- Finish my painting
- Get to 525 on STP (only about 6 tracks, but I like round numbers)
- Have lights turned off by 12.30 - I need to be up at 7.30 so no more 4-5am bedtimes!

If your oh goes through the ou he will probably have to pay however if he does itt he will get paid for training. Science is classed as a shortage subject so he could also get a golden hand shake.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
