  • and on the other side of that, we will be having the normal, all in one MMR vaccine
my daughter had it with no problems, and now its my sons turn,
if you chose to have this jab or chose to have singles then thats totally up to you, the only thing that worries me is all the dithering about it (and no... i dont mean any of you... im not starting an argument here)
too many children are not having these jabs and before you know it these diseases will come back and thats a danger to every one of us.

re - the tomato thing, When my daughter was little, she always used to get a red rash around her mouth when she had ketchup, mostly the cheap stuff i noticed, it was almost like it stained her face for a few hours....
but nothing worse than a bit of a pink happened and she LOVES ketchup now, and eats cherry tomatoes like sweets!

do any of you give your babies weetabix? i started Oz on it this week (he's 6 months) with ordinary milk, and he loves it, but someone told me to watch giving babies it because it clears out their system too much and may cause problems? any truth in that?

I personally haven't given it to chris at that age but he's had from around 12mths and loves it he has 2 bix with warm milk and a touch of honey (obviously no honey for oz yet) the only thing I've noticed is a nice firm poop follows the next day, I supose this may be what your informant meant  as your not supposed to give babies a high fibre diet, I think as long as Oz has no probs pooping then it wouls be fine, maybe only let him have it 3 times a week and not every day, although my Chirs was only eating a few spponfuls at 6 months so if that is how much Oz is having then I doubt it would cause any prob.

on a side note I used the cow n gate cereals along side "normal" ones due to the salt/sugar levels in normal ones so ou may want to consider that :)

Yeah I gave Samantha weetbix when she was 6m. As it is colder now, we have moved onto oats porridge but will definitely go back to weetbix when it is warmer (or just add hot milk to it).

We don't do 'other cereals', for babies or children. Oats, weetbix or toast are our only choices.

I gave Charlotte it from about 6-7 months. I buy the Tesco Healthy Options version as it was lower in salt and sugar. Never noticed any problems with her bowels due to it.
Here I go again on my own....

if you mean the ready brek style ones then yes, he'll like those maybe add a bit of fruit puree to mix it up a bit every now n then.

i know its too soon for Oz but I really reccomend the C&G muesli (12mths +) its got hazelnuts, raisins plus lots of other stuff and is a special brekkie treat for Chris - I couldn't justify the price if I used it everyday! anyone know if there is a muesli out there that isn't full of sugar/salt that maybe I could process for the same result?

Sami you could always try making muesli or mix two types of muesli together. I used to sometimes (for myself) get the no added sugar Alpen and mix it with a packet of luxury muesli.

It's a well kept secret - I lived opposite it (near the station) for a year before I found out about it. The road entrance is on the other side kind of opposite the DLI museum. If you look on this map, it's in the triangle made by the yellow bit of North Road, the railway line and Framwellgate Peth(A691).

On the way home from Tesco the other night, i told hubby to go into the park so we could just have a little look at what it was like, he wasnt really sure where we were pulling off at (i just point from the back seat lol) but OMG it has gates at the entrance which we almost flew through as it was dark and the road was busy

We tried looking at the opening times sign but it was quite hard to see whilst trying to reverse onto a busy dual carriage way! - do you know if its closed all winter or just at nightime?
