i've got a poo story but thankfully not my LO.

an old work colleague lives on a farm and her little boy had been potty trained recently when her OH took him out on the farm and showed him how to pee standing up in the hedge. he took this to mean he could pee anywhere (disappeared out of boots chemist one day and she found him peeing up against the window outside). but they had a barbeque with all the family and friends around and the little ones had all disappeared when they found them her little boy had been showing them how to poop outside and they were all in a row with their trousers round their ankles, she was mortified.

but thats nowhere near as good as susans story!

I'm loving all the poop stories.

My eldest went through a phase of going to the toilet then just yelling "Maaaaam I need my bum wiped" repeatidly down the stairs until I went to him.

I was round my parents and my Dad went to the loo. He thought it would be funny to open the door and keep yelling that he needed his bum wiped. He hadn't realised that I'd let the man in to read the gas meter though :o

Charlotte absolutely loves ITNG. She's got a small Upsy Daisy and an Iggle Piggle, and they have to sit on the sofa and watch, and makes them dance and kiss each other. She also has liked the Something Special show from an early age.

I find the TV handy on a morning, when I'm rushing around trying to make the packed lunches for the boys and sort out breakfasts and stuff. Charlotte takes a cup of milk and sits and watches The Tweenies while I'm busy. It keeps her out from under my feet.
Here I go again on my own....

might buy one of those cot toy things that have lights reflected on ceiling - any recommendations?

yeah, dont buy the voice activated ones... it will be a god send for a week and a half, and then it will start to annoy your baby and keep him awake instead of sending him off gently to sleep
i bought the winnie the pooh dream show thing off ebay really cheap because the seller had made the mistake of mentioning it only got used twice as it kept her son awake, and of course i knew better...
but now his is redundant too
the problem being that the voice activation thing is too sensitive, so when he rolled over in the night and banged his dummy on the bars or whatever it is they do that makes that banging noise... it would go off, all plinky plonky 100 acre wood music and projections on the ceiling... too much for the poor kid to cope with at 3am

now dont we all feel closer that we have shared poo stories?? :D like a proper mother and baby group! lol
although finding out that someone used a muslin as a nappy threw me...

as for tv, Danny watches the bedtime hour on cbeebies, and we record something special as its on a stupid times, and we watch that at our leisure... but most days its just the bedtime hour, he just had an ITNG birthday... so got loads of the toys and loves them all dearly! his clear favourite is upsy daisy, he has a little one thats been chewed to death, a bigger one thats in his cot and the talking one!

oh forgot Christopher doesn't have a "baby" light thing he has a disco ball that was only £5 I figured he would get more use out of it, although I mostly just put him in bed with us if he won't settle at night

It's because we do elimination communication - we change them as soon as they get wet so it would be a waste to be washing whole terry nappies.

  • No tv here at all. Tom isn't the slightest bit interested. I wish he was at times as it might give me 5 minutes respite!

having a rotten week. Tom is loaded with cold (so am I) and is barely sleeping. Plus DD was up most of last night with earache. I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep - even my boss commented yeterday that I look exhausted (thanks for that). Plus OH has been away all week - again. Do you think it would be rude on Friday to hand Tom over and go to bed?

    my poo story...

We got back from our hols when Imogen was 16 months old and let her have some nappy-off time in the living room as we took the cases upstairs. I popped my head in to check on her and saw some suspect brown marks on the cream carpet. When I looked closer there was a big, solid and (thankfully) dry-ish poo on the sofa. She must have poo-ed on the floor and then picked it up and put it on the sofa! Yet was sat playing with her book like a little angel!!
