Can't remember who was asking now, but We got tesco own brand swim nappies. They are a bit big for her (and not obvious which way round they go either, I think she may have had them on backwards!) but she will grow into them. Huggies little swimmers small size is still bigger than she is now I think, and she's just above the 75 centile - maybe they don't expect people to take babies swimming till they are 6 months or so?

Can't possibly catch up with everything as I've been at my parents' since Friday, but wanted to share a couple of things.

For those who remember my "Timmy down the well," moment, I'm pleased to report a new keyboard has fixed my laptop - hurrah!

Imogen has an obsession with me putting on makeup and loves to watch. This am I was just finishing when I asked her if I looked pretty and she thought really carefully and then said, "Well, not yet Mummy," - charming!

Nice to have a daddy join us, welcome Bruno. Of the posts I've managed to read Elijah is gorgeous.

Imogen also hates us singing or whistling and constantly tells us to stop it. Part of her controlling nature!

Well done Chris on the potty training. Sami - Imogen responded really well to stickers and praise, so maybe you could just to the positive reinforcement and he'll decide for himself?

Oh, and has anyone else discovered CBeebies radio? 5am-8am every morning plus podcasts and stories to listen to. We had around 15 mins of peace today while listening to the three stories on there. And apparently it's a very important skill to be able to listen without visual prompts, so CDs/other music and radio are very important.

Right Da Vinci Code calls. Hope you've all had a good weekend

Thanks Lu :) I have been reading the thread off and on for months but been fairly quiet.

MFD - Run for Life - aren't new mums advised not to run or do impact exercise for several months due to elastic joints? Are you doing running already and finding it ok...? I know my OH had 'funny joints' for months after Elijah was born which made her nervous about running!
  • To be honest Bruno I am more in it for the fun than the run! I persuaded my 2 SILs to take part with me and we reckon even if we walk it will take less than an hour.

I have been doing stepping and hula-hooping on the Wii!

We will run a bit, walk a lot I reckon!

Will try a bit of running and if it doesn't suit I will be def walking the whole thing - thanks for the warning!

    awww!

Charlotte is obsessed with make up too. She hovers when I'm getting ready and hands me stuff in the right order now. She likes to have a dusting on her cheeks with my big powder brush and a squirt of perfume :D

Hubby is away on a course. He left this afternoon and won't be back until Thursday. Charlotte was looking for him at bed time and kept saying "kiss Dad, kiss Dad" and then finally said "awww no Dad today." It must be hard for her to work out what's going on.

I'm missing him too, and even though I was on my own for years before I met him, it feels odd being on my own again.
Here I go again on my own....

My pushchair weighs - 13.5kgs (and is very front heavy making it hard to steer)
Loola weighs - 10.6kgs (and looks easy to handle)
Chicco weighs - 6.5kgs (very light)

I haven't seen any bad reviews for it yet, if anyone knows anything bad about it please let me know:)

We had that in December when OH was doing a Christmas job on evening shifts. The first evening she ran to the top of the stairs shouting, "Daddy, Daddy" at bedtime but after a couple of days she got used to the new routine.

On clothes, if you get given too many little clothes as presents, you can always exchange them for larger sizes. We did that with Alice as apart from a wedding at 3 months we never put her in "proper" clothes till she was about 5 months and we were given enough second hand stuff anyway. She's actually just started wearing a dress recently which we got in exchange for a newborn outfit given when she was already a month old. We actually ended up skipping 0-3 month vests and going straight to 3-6 from newborn at five weeks because she was burtsing out of them.
