Yes, especially if you are breastfeeding, BUT if you have any concerns you could speak to your Health Visitor.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I dont need to buy a pregnacy test then?
Breastfeeding can delay the return of periods, but can't be relied upon as a form of contraceptive. If you haven't been using any, thinking you'd wait until you had a period, I'd get a pregnancy test fast!
Time we were both in bed. Don't worry, it won't help ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
nova, my baby is 1 tomorrow and I just had my first period last week
as long as you're not pregnant, don't worry.

I havent really had a proper normal period yet, although I was bleeding a lot for weeks after giving birth.
This morning I have like a morning sickness, so obviously Im a little worried. But it might be just upset tummy.
Is itnormal to not have a period again for a little while after giving birth?
Tom is nine months and I still haven't had one. In fact I didn't even think about it until recently as it's been so long since I had one.0 -
Bailey - big hugs. Hope you had an easier night? Imogen just unzips herself out of he sleeping bag too, hence she's in a 'proper' bed with a duvet. We put drawer locks on her drawers as she did have a stage of emptying them, but she soon got bored. We also have a lock on the wardrobe, one of those from Mothercare which just locks the handles together.
Not sure when Jack's nap is, but have you thought about trying to make it before lunch if it's currently after? Then you could shorten it slightly and he would be more tired by bedtime. Imogen still sleeps for 1-2hours most days and this is usually after lunch, but she will go to sleep before lunch if I persevere.
PP - Imogen made the transition really easily, but hasn't stopped yelling for us to get her when she wakes. We have a babygate across the doorway so she just opens the door and yells (as she did yesterday morning), "Get up! I'm awake now Daddy!". We have tried putting her nightlight on and giving her some books but the success rate is about 15%. At Xmas when I've got some time off I'm going to start enforcing this properly and perhaps find a light she can put on herself so she knows that it's okay to be awake, but she needs to stay in her room until we go to get her. That would be a big change for her and quite a relief for us. We'll see how successful we are with it!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Hi LuT, no we didn't have an easier night, I think I can safely say it was the worst night we have had yet with them both. Molly woke continually every 20 mins sometimes less due to this cough and then cried every single time. At 3am Jack woke and was at his stairgate I asked him to go to bed and at the next molly cry he came out again and scaled the stair gate once i had returned to bed. DH got out as fast as he could, scooped him up and very firmly placed him back into bed, it must have worked as we didn't hear him until Molly woke everyone at 6 something.
I took her to the docs today to see about this cough, she has a nasty cold and needs her inhaler, which I have but didn't know how to use. It was just given to me last time she was on the nebuliser. We've dosed her up and Jack to and hoping to have some sleep this evening. I took Jack for a long walk this afternoon in the woods and he had his lunch nap in the buggy as he ransacked his room.
This is getting to me as I can't get stuff done, he trashes everything and is like a whirlwind in a china shop. I have to admit on giving him medised to help knock him out tonight and it took DH between 35-40 mins sitting by his bed telling him to lie down, before he caved. DH felt it was the medised rather than Jack going to sleep. Obviously we can't medicate him every night. But i'm finding it really hard to get jobs done during the day too let alone having my evenings tied up settling a nearly 2 year old.
I've just finished sorting out our accounts and still haven't had a look at the sofa yet.
Its still new territory hopefully it will settle down soon.

I'm up at all hours too here. No idea why. Joseph has been crying for some reason unconsolably for a few days and today woke up very early from his nap burning up. He was bright red and would not calm down. Slightly better after a dose of nurofen, but looking very unhappy, not eating, not drinking . We phoned nhs direct in the end. I thought he had meningitis at one point! No idea what's wrong, but if it is his teeth they had better come out soon...
Ooh, it's nearly midnight. Can I say it yet? You know, while I'm here, in case I don't make it in tomorrow? Oh, three mins isn't going to make a difference, so...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIOT!!! :kisses3: :bdaycake:
Be nice to Mummy! And Daddy and any grannies and cats that you may encounter. Have a great day.My absolutely beautiful, perfect little boy was finally born on the 24th at 2.07 pm, weighing 7lbs 5oz.:wall:0 -
Nova - you any better?
Bailey - oh hun! I only know a bit how you're feeling, but really hope you've had a better time. Getting it from both of them must be really hard. I just hope you can hang on to the fact that it won't always be like this and one day you will look back and think it passed in the blink of an eye, even though it feels at the moment like it will go on forever.
I've got Imogen signed up for a playgroup where you leave them for 2 hours. She starts after Xmas (as she'll be 2). It's run by a local childminder on a Thursday and Friday afternoon. She's just down for Thursdays at the moment, but I can't wait for the time on my own! Is there something nearby you can get Jack into? It's costing £4.50/session, but I figured that's only the same as Sing & Sign or Jo Jingles. It's a small price to pay for that time on my own - or in your case, just with Molly.
Happy birthday Elliot. Hope you have a smashing day :j
Right, off to get us both ready for a day's shopping with my boss. We have a posh awards do to go to in 2 weeks and she is absolutely NOT wearing the same boring black suit she bought 20 years ago that she has worn the last few times! Not very MSE, but I am going to buy Grazia for 20% off Principles, Wallis and Oasis (might be a bit young for her, but you never know!) Just hope Imogen's in a shopping mood!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
