The extractor fan in the kitchen was a favourite when DS was small...;)
Google threw this up though - free downloadable mp3s of white noise for small babies:

my little girl is 6 weeks on saturday. i haven't been back on the pregnancy thread since i had her (sorry everyone) but she takes up a lot of my time, especially in the evening.

Hi AF - welcome to the other side!
Hope all is going well - its bloody hard work isn't it!?!
This thread goes a lot slower than the preg thread (usually!), as we're all obviously too busy!:beer:0 -
My valves must also be missing!
She cried earlier for feeding, so I ran to make a quick cup of tea first, and felt both boobs explode!
I'm being a wicked mummy - I've left the hoover on next to me, so I can come on here and type! She sleeps instantly with the hoover on, but wakes as soon as its switched off!
ok yet again i have leaky boobs any baby cries and mine explode! and leave hoover on to get 5 mins peace are you sure we arent the same person??:rotfl:
i have went from very blonde to dark brown underneath and brown and blond highlights. i have an inverted bob, short at the back and longer at the front, my idea is that its too short to tie up so i have to get up and straighten it lol!
oh Erin is 10 weeks today! where has the time went
welcome angelfairy!What's for you won't go past you0 -

You are my Scottish Doppelganger!
I was thinking of the inverted bob - i've had it before and was happy! I've been googling for short/straight hairstyles and keep being drawn to even shorter ones (Sarah Harding/Amy off Hollyoaks) - but i'm scared in case its my hormones making the decision for me!!
My hormones have been responsible for some bizarre hair decisions in the past. It was bra strap length and dark - and I went white blonde and an Annie Lennox style cut when I was pregnant with DS (before I knew)!:beer:0 -
thanks for all the welcomes. i loved the pace of the pregnancy thread but no way i could keep up with that pace now, as you said, we have no time.
i am not BF, much to my disappointment and upset. i had told myself when pregnany i wouldn't beat myself up about it if i couldnt do it, but i really have done. i didn't realise how much it would upset me. unfortunately the hosptial wasn't brilliant in helping and i got so scared that my daughter would be soooooooooooo hungry (after feeding her in hospital, thinking she was getting enough, only to have her crying so much cause she was hungry and see her gulp down a feed that the midwives gave her)
i am experiencing colic, a baby who doesn't like to sleep during the day so gets sooooooooooooooooo tired and then screams her pretty little head for hours...
but as i said, i love her to pieces and woudn't change her for the world
oh, and i thought i was a crier before i had her, i think i must cry every few days0 -
Hey AF - not ignoring you hun...busy day. Will text tomorrow when Benjamin and I are having a lazy day at home.
Sami - problem with the lilypadz at night is that they get a back-up of milk behind them so you need to be careful when taking them off and I have got feeding Benjamin whilst semi-asleep (me not him!) down to a fine art. I will try them tonight (and sleep on a maternity mat) and let you know how I go tomorrow...
And I am going to go bra-less!!
Twit-twoo!!!
And unbelieveably (that's not right, is it!!) my bleeding seems to have stopped :rolleyes:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
OMG I have finally caught up our tinternet has been off since Mon what a disaster:eek:
Welcome to newbies
Breast pads I swore by johnsons although I put 2 on at night as my milk was very much on a flowing tap!!!!!
El started her swimming lessons again on Monday and loved it, once again she was the noisest in the class. I was a bit apprehensive (big word for me at this time of nite) about going because all of a sudden she didn't like being soaked in the bath she wouldn't lie down and if I so much as try to wash her hair she screams blue murder!!! But I had nothing to worry about as she was fine.
Another idea for leaky boobs in bed is either buy disposable bed mats bit on the steep side though
http://www.lifepharmacy.co.uk/product.aspx?productid=2693
OR
get one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hippychick-Mattress-Protector-Cot-Cot-Bed-Waterproof_W0QQitemZ290311527845QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Baby_NurseryBedding_RL?hash=item290311527845&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
El has one in her cot as she is a dribbler and was staining her mattress. Her one is under her sheet but it is so soft you could sleep on it at least it would be easier than a full bedding change you could either bung it in the machine or rinse it buy hand.
I remember mine being cheaper than the one I posted but not in the mood to go searching for cheaper at the mo.
HTH
I'm off down to a wedding in fife this weekend so thats something to look forward to and El will actually be wearing a DRESS!!!!!Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Af i have had a good few weeks of the same but all of a sudden she is so much happier and even sleeps! the problem with erin is she is so nosey and wants to see everything that is going on lol! oh and i make her sleep as she just makes herself even more tired and then will not sleep!
3 - i must be your scottish doppleganger lol!! my hair was halfway down my back and blonde and 8 weeks ago i got it chopped and coloured and this time she has done the same and its in great comdition with having it all chopped! the colour is quite dark but i was fed up and wanted a change! i did see a girl with dark brown on top and bright pink underneath! it was beautiful but not sure if i would suit it:D
