Regarding breast pads, I used to leak like a tap in my BFing days and the only pads I liked/worked for me were Tommee Tippee and Lansinoh (they're very similar). I always stocked up on the TT whenever they were on offer at Tesco, which was every few months. I really felt they were worth the extra money though, as no other pad could take on my leakiness! :o

I was always amazed at some BFing mums who didn't need breast pads at all! My boobs must have the valves missing :D - I am the human equivalent of the Tommee Tippee Fist Cup whereas my non-leaking friends were the Anyway-up Cup. :rotfl:

MFD - mine and Krystals info slightly different - but honestly if you smell it you'll know when its off. I would say most fridges now are 0-5 degrees - and therefore the milk will be alright for about a week. the only thing i'd say is dont keep it in the door - thats not as cold.

Kellymom is an American site, it probably carries American guidelines. I know a lot of research went into the breastfeeding network info... On the temperature of the fridge... I have a thermometer in my my fridge and I actually find lower than 5deg hard to maintain unless I have it turned right down... But then it feels abnormally cold...

Do agree that you know when it is off... And also, baby probably won't drink it either...

On breastpads... I'm afraid I only got through half a box of mothercare own and then never needed anymore... Sorry... Still have the other 50 that were left... Could never bring myself to throw them out!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

did you see the poll thats said 65% of mothers NEVER cook a meal from scratch? never???
that cant be right surely?? we get a bit lazy occasionally and im not too scared to admit that Danny has had a happy meal (in my defence it was only fish fingers and fruit bag with his own juice for a drink...not as bad as it could be!) but NEVER? thats terrible...
I guess it depends what they mean by "cook from scratch" - if you make a curry using a jarred sauce does that count? Same with spaghetti bolognaise and lasagne. Perhaps they were being very strict with their definition.

Worst was recently I took some games to cex to trade in and told OH about it and Chris then spent 3 days telling everyone "Mummy go cex" God knows what they thought of that!!

DH has just come home, went to the loo and after a few mins came back down and said to me

    "you've had your hair cut"
    "You've remembered or you've noticed"
    "I remembered"
"It doesn't count if you don't notice, you remembered as i told you this morning......"
    "what's the difference?"

Please can someone tell him......... now we are on his and her's laptops and just passing comments. We need to sort ourselves out but i frankly need some help here (from him)!
Sorry, my OH always notices because he's the one who cuts it.

What have you had done? Have you put new haircut photos on facebook? I'm getting mine done tomorrow and am searcing for pics of what I want.

Its straight, dark shoulder length now - and it was gorgeous, thick and shiny when I was pregnant - now its straggly, dull and looks like crap tbh!

I was thinking it would look healthier a bit shorter, short bob maybe? But can't think of any one (celebs) who's got a style I like.

My valves must also be missing!

She cried earlier for feeding, so I ran to make a quick cup of tea first, and felt both boobs explode!

I'm being a wicked mummy - I've left the hoover on next to me, so I can come on here and type! She sleeps instantly with the hoover on, but wakes as soon as its switched off!

I liked Tesco own brand breast pads. They worked fine for me, but I didn't leak very much.

I found a nice firm bra with high cut cups kept my melons contained and kept the breast pads in place. It didn't look very sexy mind :o

I'm not well at the moment - got cold symptoms, I'm shivery and I ache all over. James is worried in case it's slime (not swine!) flu :rotfl:

Having bother with Charlotte at the moment. She still needs her afternoon nap otherwise she gets too tired and is just naughty and horrid until bedtime. On normal days, we have lunch then take the dog for a walk and she's happy to go down for a sleep. However on work days, my Mam drops her in on her way to work. She drops off in the car but then wakes up when my Mam lifts her out, and then refuses to sleep. I've tried going for walks and going back out in the car, but she'll just not drop off if she's had those 10 minutes in my Mam's car. It's driving me mad and I'm trying to work out ways of getting round it. I'm thinking it might be easier to try and work less hours and pick her up and bring her back here for lunch, then a dog walk and she might go into the cot as normal.

I like her having a nap too as I get my uni study done while she's asleep and it's easier studying in an afternoon as I'm normally knackered by the time she goes to bed on an evening.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Is there any chance of your mum keeping her awake in the car becles? Maybe a favourite toy, book or a good old sing-song?

Thanks for the milk storage info - it also never occurred to me that if the milk was off Benjamin would refuse it...I just had images of him being really ill, but I guess even if he did drink it he would just bring it all back again.

    I waffle...!

LOL about the hoover! I have the best blow-dried hair I have ever had because Benjamin is quite whilst I dry it!! Normally I am a 2 minute blast and that will do kind of girl!

MFD - why haven't you tried the lilly pads at night yet? :naughty: that was going to be my suggestion
I'd quite like some feed back on them please?Pprovided I manage more than the fortnight of feeding I did with Chris I may have to get some.
I like Caz slept with pamper change mats on the bed (they are currently on offer £3 for 7pk in Asda) my leaking was made worse by the fact I slept on my front I might as well have slept on a wet towel :p
I also went through tonnes of pads!! I used TT ones stuck to my bra and the johnsons or tesco ones as well and I was changing the non TT ones about 10 times a day - hoping that was just due to it being early days and having problems tho.. at least I knew I was making plenty of the stuff and that wasn't the problem

3 - does she also like 'white noise' from the TV/radio?
I'd be tempted to put her upstairs with the un-tuned TV on ;)
