Happy Birthday Joseph :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0

Elliot is 1 next Friday and other than eating cake (me) and drinking champagne (me)... I don't think it will be spectacularly noteworthy - save the energy for when they're 5 and want the moon on a stick for their birthdays
We've bought him a swing for the garden, and that is it! Is the garage from the ELC? I've been eyeing that up for Christmas! Mind you he is currently running around with a (CLEAN) nappy in his mouth so I can't help but wonder if it's a waste anyway :rotfl:
3 hours at soft play - a medal for you!0 -
Baybee - £73! That's at least 2 outfits!!
I know!! lol. Ive got to take the receipts in after though. And she said to try not to spend less as its too much paperwork haha! She said to look for a skirt, blouse, jacket and tights.. but Im not sure Ill be comfy in that and was thinking maybe smart trousers, smart blouse, and a nice black jacket/coat.
Any suggestions??\\ Debt Free April 2008 //\\ Single Mummy to 1 boy - 4 years & 5 months old //\\ Last weeks spend: £139.39 - 2 NSDs //0 -

I've had some lovely suits from Matalan, might be worth a look there but if you're allowed up to £73 maybe worth trying Dorothy Perkins?:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

Or as I said in the other thread, is there a Next Clearance nearby? I did a quick Google and can only find odd references to them. Was hoping to find you a list. You tend to find them at outlets, but I've also seen them on out of town shopping parks. We have a couple nearby, at Castleford and York.
From a practicality point of view I'd be tempted to trousers as you don't know what you're going to have to do in the 'group interview'. A friend of mine did one where the emptied a bag of yogurt pots, cereal boxes etc and had to make something and it was all done on the floor, so trousers would be better if this is what they're going to do!
I like Principles/Wallis for work trousers and, as there's a sale on, you might get a bargain.
Scruffy - hope El's okay?
Happy birthday Joseph! :bdaycake: We didn't do much for Imogen's first birthday, just had some family round. I baked a cake, which I was very proud of! Nigella I'm not :rotfl: We also hired a room at a local community centre for £20/hour and had a joint birthday party with another baby. We did our own catering and they provided all the toys. All we had to do was hoover up when we'd finished. It certainly saved my living room carpet! As someone else said, they won't notice at this age.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Happy birthday to Joseph! :j :T Doesn't it feel like yesterday that we were in the pregnancy club!
Welcome to all the new members, it's lovely to meet you.
It's half term here this week so it's been hectic. Am very proud of the fact that I've taken both boys swimming by myself, twice! A lively 5-yr-old, an equally lively 13-month-old, plus all the paraphernalia, and only two hands, and I managed! :T
Speaking of Chirstmas, I am completely baffled about Alex's Christmas pressies - he honestly doesn't need any more toys! DS1 is easy as he is at the age where he wants everything  , and needs a bigger bike etc, so that's no problem. But what to do with a toddler, who more than anything in the world loves playing with the dishwasher??? :rotfl:0
