    Hello all,
it's been months since I've been on here for some reason my internet provider wouldn't let me onto MSE. Now I've changed and can get on now. I'll try my best to read back a few pages.
    Hope everyone is well.

Well i've just brought some to try tonight, morrisons had a pound off and i had a pound voucher so was cheap if it doesnt help!

why aren't they a good thing? just wondering?

he's always been a hungry baby, we switched him to hungrier milk quite early on as he obviously wasnt ready that early for any solids but too much milk just made him sick afterwards. but then he wasnt satisfied.
I'm not a big fan because they have added rice or cereal in them to keep baby feeling full, I do believe that if they are waking up hungry when still babies they need an extra feed.
They weren't around until Chris was about 1yr so I didn't have the option to use them but my initial thought is that I won't use them for bump either (fingers crossed i'll be breast feeding - didn't sucseed with Chris tho) he used to wake up early morning for a feed I think until around 9mths but as I wasn't working and he went back to sleep afterwards it didn't bother me.

Those thinking of getting blackout blinds I would deff recomend them - life savers! I got a cheapy one from argos that you cut to size yourself was pretty simple to put up and does the job :)

    hi there,

Feeling a bit sad today, wondered if anyone has any advice/reassurance. :(

We were so keen for our baby to bond with dad as well as me, that he went to his Dad's chest for skin to skin, and they had a good old cuddle and look at each other. Now he's 2 weeks, he still seems to gaze right in DH's eyes, but doesn't hold my gaze at all, just flicks off to look above my head. Probably sounds really trivial, but I'm scared he's attached to DH and not me.:o

Did anyone else have this experience? What happened?

    Love Weezl x

Weezl, he loves his Mummy all the world!!

DH held Jamie soon after the birth too (not skin to skin though) and even gave him is first feed but he doesn't get any preferential treatment ;). Fergie might just be a 'very alert' baby, which is what I'm constantly being told about Jamie (I think hes just very [STRIKE]nosey[/STRIKE] curious! :D ).

    xx

    Hi Keely

I haven't tried the Night Time Milk (as Poppy has always slept through the night - sorry! :o ) but I still use Cow & Gate 1+ formula for her morning and evening bottle. She has never had a drink of cows milk and, until she eats a balanced diet instead of feeding her food to the dog, I will use the formula for my own peace of mind :). Give the night milk a try and see how he goes. It might just be these lighter mornings are waking him (just like Poppy who woke at 6:30am this morning!! ).

    Good luck!

    xx

Lu - you're right about the advertising follow on milks as a way of getting around the rules about not advertising formula for under 6mths.
I used the 1st milk, hungry baby and 6mths + ones but not the 12mths+ as it is vanilla flavoured and I didn't want to encourage Chris to have an even sweeter tooth than he already does!

As I say I use the night time ones now because they are in a small box because the big tubs of formula would go all hard like sugar when its got damp because we only use 4 scoops a day and it says that you should use it within 3 weeks of opening (or something like that?!?) I'm gonna try to just give him cows milk once I get halfway through my last box of formula which will be in a fortnight or so because I think he's more than capable of it but we shall see.

on the follow on milk subject the thing that annoys me is the C&G advert that shows how much cows milk ur bubs would need to drink to get the same amount of a certain nutrient as in one beaker of their formula its so stupid because the age its aimed at doesn't need all that from milk coz they get it from food by then!

Weezl - kids are fickle little things! He still loves his mummy but he's checking out how his daddy looks at the moment :)
does his dady wear glasses? I find a lot of babies are facinated by mine either because their mummy has some too or because they've not seen many people with them before. If you have glasses and daddy doesn't or vise versa that could be a reason for staring.
I've been staying at my mum n dads this week and Chris is soo cheeky if I shout at him he runs straight to grandma saying "mummy shouting" if she then tells him off its over to granddad saying "grandma shouting"
He was particulary naughty the other day and got told off by all 3 of us so he tried to phone Daddy :rotfl: - bless!

:rotfl: I think we've suitably confused poor keely ;)
at least we've covered to diff veiws and then she can pick which suits how she feels :D
I love the C&G cow! I've got 2 as well:money: I never got the polar bear that comes from another formula company tho :( I tried applying for it under diff names/address etc but none of them came!

I'm quite jealous of your 2 good sleepers tho! Chris wasn't a bad sleeper, pretty average really so I didn't suffer too much but I would have prefered sleeping bunnies like urs :)
