Please tell us more about the pregnancy reflexology Caz, I'd like to know your experiences of it
I had reflexology at the end of my first pregnancy and it was bliss. Think I went every month from about 24ish weeks? I stepped it up towards my due date and went every fortnight, then every week. I found it very relaxing and while it may have had something to do with starting my labour, I'm not completely convinced. I just thought it was a real treat, some 'me' time (last i had of that! :rotfl: ) and couldn't do any harm.
My aunt is a qualified reflexologist and she specialises in conception with couples who have struggled even with treatments like IVF. The house is always filled with flowers to say thanks & that another baby has arrived. She also does palliative care. She likes the balance of helping to create life and helping to make the passing more comfortable. Shame she lives 250 miles away or I'd be having weekly treatments (at family rates, obviously!)MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

i feel awful now - all you mummies wracked with guilt over lumps and bumps and bruises and I swear Oz gets them so often (like at least 3 times a week) that i'm used to it now - I only worry what other people think! He's such a little explorer its bound to happen, he's really trying to walk now and he's not 10 months yet so when he's standing its a longer fall for him!
we visited his cousin on wednesday and yesterday chicken pox appeared, so I'm sure Oz will get it now. Any advice to pre warn me? Has anyone's LO had it this young - ie before 12 months?
just had a thought - i'm still breastfeeding Oz - i wonder does that give him any immunity to chickenpox as i've already had it.
BFing can pass on antibodies but its not garunteed
Hope he doesn't get it/ if he does it goes smoothly - have a peek on the NHS site for good amount of info, if he does get it he'll be contagious from 2 days before rash so maybe best to stay away from anyone preg until you know he's clear (which is something like 2 weeks from exposure)0 -
My friends LO has just had chicken pox at 3mths old, she slept or cried through it and needed to be doused in lotion and dosed up on calpol

thanks Sami, my sister and best friend are both pregnant but neither are worried as both have had chicken pox, my sister is kind of waiting on her little girl getting it as its going round the school and my friend likewise with her little one. I'm not that worried if he gets it as its good to get it out of the way I suppose, its one of those things everyone (mostly) gets at one point or another, better now when I'm not working and am at home with him.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I heard something about b/f affecting the bleeding - but can't remember which way round, lasts longer or less!!
And I can't remember how long it lasted with my older first two - it was so long ago!
Anyway, i'm still feeding and it seems to have pretty much stopped, 5 weeks and 1 day later. (Don't tell OH that though, i'm enjoying some peace at bedtime!);) :rotfl::beer:0 -

I avoided my friend anyway, I would have liked to get it out of the way and let Chris catch it BUT I am pregnant and it is very dangerous for bump if mum gets c-pox when pregnant and having had it before doesn't guarantee immunity so I didn't take the risk I couldn't live with myself if I had been one of the 10% that catches it a 2nd time and damaged my baby. :undecided
my sister can't really avoid it as the majority of her little girls class has had it and so its probably inevitable that she gets it, my friend's little boy had chicken pox whilst she was pregnant with her little girl and now shes pregnant again and basically waiting for her little girl to get it as its going round everyone! I won't take Oz to either of their houses if they don't want me to, but they don't seem to think there is any risk when pregnant - at least my sister's doctor said there wasn't.
As he doesnt actually have and has only been exposed to it I don't think I could keep him indoors for 3 weeks as thats apparently how long it can take to show, I don't think anyone does that, because at the minute around here so many kids have it its impossible to know which children have been exposed and which havent.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY
