Hi me again, a quick question about teething!!

Is it common for babies to go off their milk/bottle a bit when teething? Elliot has been teething for a while, but no teeth yet. He has days when he just isnt bothered with his bottle, but will happily have something cold to eat ie fruit puree or his fave today fruit custard. But he will just chew on my bottle teat and let the milk go everywhere! I worry he isnt having enough milk when he does this.

    He's unsettled today aswell.

Keely - I don't know if it's common, but pretty much anything is 'normal' when it comes to babies! As long as he's eating something then don't worry, I'm sure he'll be back to his little self soon. And it's quite true that when they are hungry they WILL eat.

    Welcome to all newbies.

Weezl - sorry I can't help more about your queries. Imogen came out of the sunroof, so I don't have experience of bruised lady-bits (although I'm hoping to this time around IYSWIM?) I don't remember having a rash, but you forget so much over time.

In the spirit of sharing, I still have prolapsed pile from being pregnant with Imogen. It hasn't really bothered me, but now I'm pregnant again it's become a bit more painful so I'll ask MW to check it out when i see her in 2 weeks.

CG- keep meaning to my pelvics in the shower but forgetting. Am clenching now though!!

Chris didn't get any teeth until he was 11mths so milk wasn't as much of an issue, he did/does definitely go off his food while teething, he like to live off cereal and toast when teething tho
I wouldn't worry about how much actual milk he's having as long as he's having green veg, cheese, yogurt etc he'll be getting what he needs and he'll prob make up for it once the pain goes :D

hello ladies, well having a right old time of it here lol! still nowhere with the reflux, but she is putting on weight and is now 9lb 11oz at 3 weeks! on the down side she has thrush in her mouth and has passed it to me. OMG it is painful, my boobs are so tender and i am dreading every feed time:( even kids cuddling me hurts? HV gave me something but its not working quick enough for me lol!

keely if he was really hungry he would take bottle and as he is on solids he wont be going without! have you got a teething ring or even carrot stick to chew on to ease his gums!

Try some teething gel before you give him his bottle, may ease enough of the pain for him to feed.

We had thrush and I was prescribed oral daktarin (?sp), which cleared it up really quickly, especially as I had been suffering with it over 2 weeks before it was formally diagnosed.

keely try teething powders - they're brilliant and worked a treat when Oz was first teething - either Teetha or Ashton and Parsons, though I prefer teetha (but they're a little more expensive).

left Oz with the MIL today for nearly 2 hours!! and he was grand and so was I - got a bit of shopping done and went to see about doing a course. Am leaving him again next week.
