I found DS2 was of the "Anything he can do, I can do too" persuasion, especially wrt reading! DS3 is more of a "Anything they can do, I don't need to" kind of lad. :rotfl:
That's exactly like my children. DD wanted to do everything (and still does!). Tom just points and says "Urrghhh!" at things and someone gets it for him! He stil only walks when there's something he wants that he's not really supposed to have, otherwise he just doesn't bother.
He is coming on lovely with his talking though. The newest thing is saying "There'tis" after he's hidden something and found it again (which he does
all day long!)0 -
isn't it great to see them developing? Becles - sounds like Charlotte would pretty quickly learn to count if she already recognises numbers. Apparently it's good if they point at or touch each item with their 'pointing finger'.
Been to my mum's today. She hasn't seen Imogen for about 7 weeks due to various things an they literally got back from a holiday at 1am. We made lunch and took it over. Imogen promptly got out her flash cards and went right through the alphabet looking at the side with the word on, not theone with the picture:eek:
Mum said the next stage was to build up her vocabulary linked to each letter - so she knows r is for rabbit but we need to add more words. In the car on the way home DH randomly said, "R is for robot and red too." And I added "Auntie Rachel". Next thing, she's reeling them all off - "R is for robot, red and Auntie Rachel mummy"!!
We told her about the baby in my tummy yesterday. Seemed like a good time as she knows there are babies in some of our mum & baby groups's tummies. She was pleased about the idea and said, "I'd like a baby... And I'd like to drive a bus," :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
She did at least remember this morning and I'm going to buy her a book which has been recommended called something like Mummy has a house in her tummy. Apparently it explains about mummy being tired and how the baby grows as well as what will happen when it arrives.
Better go. Got some e-mails t read and I need to pack for a night away tomorrow.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Lu - She is such a bobby dazzler!
Chris got a bit confused about babies in tummies the other day after we'd met up with my friend who is due a week or so before me, he decided that if mummy and her friend had babies in their tummies then everyone must do! (including daddy and him!):rotfl:
Earlier this week he decided he wanted a little brother just like Peppa Pig has :A but on thursday he was back to calling it "baby brother sister" and now when we ask him which he wants he says "That one"0 -

When DD was about three she suddenly became aware of our wedding photo and asked what I was doing. When I said I was getting married she looked at me astounded and said "I didn't know you got married. Who did you get married to?". When I explained it was to her Dad (we are still married now, it's not like he'd gone or anything!!) she demanded to know why she wasn't in the photo. Not wanting to go into it I said she was still in my tummy. She nodded knowledgably and said "And *brother's name* was still in dad's tummy".
She thought ladies had baby girls and men had baby boys, bless her. She's ten now and still likes that story! And she's gone off on a school residential trip today so she's not a baby any more, sniff!0 -

She likes pointing at body parts. We have to sit going "where's your legs?" "where's your hands?" etc. I like "where's your buttocks?" best and she does an Asda price style slap on her behind :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -
HELP!!!
My LO (5months old) has started waking up in the 2am ish wide awake, wanting to play, absolutely no chance going back to sleep:eek: . So, I've got up with him for 2hrs til he's tired and put him back to bed. Any ideas how do I stop this. He goes to bed about 8ish?
It may be down to his medication for his reflux. One of the side afects is restlessness. We've had to up his dose as the previous dose had lost its effectiveness.
I'm sooo tired as I feed him every 2 hrs stil at night. Please tell me when this will end?

Do you say "buttocks" in a Forrest Gump stylee :rotfl:
Chris loves pointing at body bits especially anyones nose because of course when you touch someones nose they have to say "beep"
Although we are obviously not as posh as you because we say "bum":p0 -

i need some help! (again!)
within the last couple weeks, while at work on a quick break,i seen a window adverisement on a shop that showed a regular pram only with what looked like a carseat attached to the side. now, this would be very practical for me, as i am 20 weeks pregnant with a 16 month old DD. My problem is, I have been to all the shops in which i thought i seen the advetisement for them to tell me they dont have a clue what im talking aout! Sooo frustrating. I know i didnt dream it, as my mums boss also mentioned it to her - before she left on maternity leave, so i cant find out where she seen it!! I have googled it, but to no avail.
Can anyone please help???Carla-Farla!!
