ooh it's quiet on here! Just about to get Imogen ready for her ballet class - fairy costume with net skirt (wings removed), leggings, leg warmers, a bolero cardigan and proper ballet shoes, all in various shades of pink! If I say so myself she looks adorable - will post a pic when I can figure our the technology.

Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend.

Dosing DS with piriton (for itching) and calpol (for temp). He is very hard to occupy, but got a decent nights sleep (we'd given him some more medication as we were going to bed).

Can deal with most things as long as I get enough sleep :D

awww - she sounds very cute!

Charlotte is coming on really well with her vocabulary now. I talk to her a lot while I'm busy cooking and she's "helping" so she says things like sugar when she sees the sugar bag or oil when I get the bottle of oil out.

She's reading numbers already which has surprised me as I can't remember the boys doing it so early. We were looking at the ELC catalogue, and she was reading the numbers from the index page, although she was just saying single ones - like saying four eight, instead of forty eight.

I also said "look there's a nine" on another book, and she turned it upside down and said "no six" and then giggled hysterically :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....
  • but shes got the boys to copy, they didnt have that iykwim,
i always think 2nd and 3rd kids do things quicker because they always have someone they want to be like a few steps ahead

I do love it when they 'get' jokes its soo cute!

Well all is moving quickly in the Bee household!! Chris is now telling me when he's doing a #2 so I'm now wondering if I should try to PT/TT as soon as he seems ready even tho "they" say you shouldn't so close to when a new baby is due
He's also started telling me dummies are for babies, chewing and biting through them! So every time he breaks one I make him throw it away, think they'll be totally gone before the month is out :D

Re subsequent kids learning things earlier, my brother was learning his times tables when he was 3, as I was doing it at school... and he learnt to read before school too... I think partly because I was doing it, and partly because once I was at school my Mum had time to teach him - when I was that age she had a newborn to look after!

Re toilet training, my cousin's has a 2 year old and 3 month old. When baby was born, J decided he wasn't going to wear nappies any more as he was a big boy, so she was trying to potty train him and look after little one at the same time... so maybe trying it before baby turns up would be worth a try Sami? Not the end of the world if he regresses back - you can always try again later!

Thanks LB, thats what I was thinking and surely even if he regresses it will be easier to get back to it if he knows what he's doing a bit like the old riding a bike senario:D

on the younger ones learning quicker from older ones, I do wonder if this baby will learn to speak any quicker or if they'll be behind coz they won't be able to get a word in!:rotfl:Chris never seems to stops talking and I can talk the hind leg of a donkey!

I found DS2 was of the "Anything he can do, I can do too" persuasion, especially wrt reading! DS3 is more of a "Anything they can do, I don't need to" kind of lad. :rotfl:

Joshua talked loads, but then James hardly said a word until he was nearly 4. I was starting to get worried and had begun talking about speech therapists with the GP, then all of a sudden he just started talking. He's never shut up since then mind  :rotfl:
