I can see Alice trying the doors if we had a five door car - she's obsessed with doors at the moment. She's always shutting the room doors and opening the fridge and the washing machine. She likes to pick up eggs and shout, "Eggs!"Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Tom actually climbs inside the fridge and helps himself to yoghurts or fruit puree then holds them out to us and says "Ey?". Can't walk or talk yet but can let his wants be known!0 -

Hi Carla
My boy is 15 mths too and I am now starting to loosely toilet train - by which I mean we have a potty and every now and again he practices sitting on it.:D . It's too soon for him to do any more than that but as I had my ds1 potty trained at around 18 mths I know it is possible.
My plan is to wait for him to be more interested in the toileting process before trying to encourage him to actually deposit a present or two for me in the potty. He's certainly interested in the toilet at the mo so hopefully he'll soon be interested in what goes into it other than his toys and all the other movable objects in the bathroom:p . (I now have a toilet lock so fortunately no more of that fun activity for my ds lol).
My main advice would be to take it easy if you do try - try not to put your LO under pressure to perform as then you may well put him off the whole process but other than that there is no reason why you can't at least try to teach him. Good luck!MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
My DS was also toilet trained by 18 months but DD was nearer two - the only thing she was slower at doing, and even then she still had the odd accident!0

The only thing I can say is all the advice I see says you shouldn't try to introduce anything new in the last trimester as they tend to forget it when baby arrives0 -
What is it with men. I'm generally the one who puts LO to bed and have got him really good at going to sleep on his own in cot. Tonight I wanted to watch one programme so got OH to do it and of course LO was playing up. So after he has cried a couple of times he has just gone up and gone to sleep with him in our bed !!! Grrrrr, how to undo all my good work in one go!
Got a letter about doing a 2 day course at work (overnight stay) but I'm never gonna be able to do it as OH doesnt do nappies and gets up at 5 for work in the mornings and Lo's nursery opens at 7! Reshuffling of childcare I think !Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
it's not that they forget it's that they regress, when alex was born kennedy wanted to be held and cuddled a lot more and she got more baby like.
she's 2 and 4 months and we've not started yet, she has a potty and plays with it but wont use it so we're waiting for the summer so she can run around naked!0 -
we have a potty so DS (15 months) can sit on it and get used to it but ive not started yet,
I potty trained DD during the summer when she turned 2, so she was running about in pants when it was nice and warm, i remember it being quite a simple process... and once she got the idea we didnt really have many accidents,
bear in mind though, i took time out and really concentrated on getting her potty trained, my sister rushed her DD to try and get her out of nappies early, totally messed it up and my niece was having toilet problems well past her 4th birthday...0
