Charlotte helps too. Last night I was cooking and she watched me chop up all the ingredients, and then I went to throw them in the wok to stir fry them. As I did she said "oooh hot, mind hot" :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0

How do you STOP them helping? Tom's only 13 months but always wants to pull the washing out of the machine (and has a good sniff while he's doing it!!), puts my tea bag in my cup, screws the lid back on the milk, "washes" things with baby wipes and puts things in the bin. I think it's because he's with me all of the time and watches what I do and thinks he can do it. I don't mind most of the time but sometimes wish he would sit and play instead of "helping".
Mind you, I will probably be glad when he's bigger. His 10 year old sister is just the best help with everything and so independent, although she too thinks she can do everything. She helps make the tea but thinks she can do it all herself (though she did make HM pizza and garlic bread the other night) and she's always asking can she do the ironing! I bet she'd soon get bored if I let her though. Her mantra when she was little was "No, MY do it!" and she doesn't like you to help with anything, never has done.0 -
Choc - I was ironing at 11. The rule was I had to iron all of my stuff, plus a little bit of my mum'x/step-dad's. Same rule for my brother when he reached 11. They both had f/t jobs, so guess us doing some ironing just helped ease the load.
Imogen was showing signs of being aware of toilet training from about 15 months, but we didn't crack it until she was 23 months. I waited quite a while but had a potty around just in case (one upstairs, one downstairs). She didn't really like the potty, it was sitting on the toilet that really cracked it for her. Even now 4months on we get the odd accident, but they aren't very often and are noramlly if she's distracted or very tired.
I'm knackered this am. I've been awayfor work for 2 nights and had 9-10 hours each night :T . last night Imogen was up at 5 crying for me, then i couldn't get back to sleep ad OH got up at 6.30am. Imogen was then up at 7am and straight into a tantrum - didn't know what to do with herself and so upset, bless her. I'm just waiting for a book called "I feel sad and other moods" to be delivered, so hopefully tht will help her understand what's going on inside her little head. Fingers crossed.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Morning all
Just a quick question, when I was dressing LO I noticed that he has a big blister on one of his toes. We bought his last pair of shoes on Saturday just gone (3rd pair so far). he's never had a problem before and just wondered whether I should go back and have his feet checked again as these new ones are rubbing or is this normal?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
I'm no expert but I would say no, not normal. Shoes shouldn't be rubbing and forming blisters. I would go back to the shop and ask!0

as far as I know he only other reason for foot probs (beside them dropping stuff on them or stubbing on something) is if his socks were too big and bunched up inside his shoes.
If he was measured incorrectly make sure you get a free pair/money back and maybe a gift card to use next time for his "trauma":money:0 -

Thanks, will definately go back tomorrow. Dont pay all that money to then have blisters come...
At the moment we only have gates at the top and bottom of stairs, 1 catch on the undersink cupboard and a few socket covers... Henry is more concerned with closing drawers, cupboard doors and the fridge rather than opening them!! He prefers the computer mouse and washing machine dial.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
What is it with the computer mouse? Tom loves it. I've neded up giving him an old one and he drags it everywhere. He's always taking it over to the loptop and wiggling it about, grinning at me as though he's really clever!0
