Well, my kids and my friends' kids, well they're all kids aren't they, just as we were all kids once. Kids kids kids. KIDS!!!! (:p Becles :rotfl: )
It's mostly 'weans' here in this part of Scotland, but 'bairns' as well.
Seriously though, it was lovely of that lady to say that to you, Becles. :T It would have made my day too (but no-one's ever said that to me, hmmm.... :rotfl: )0 -
I know some familes with a very small age gap between babies - the smallest being about 11 months. And I know siblings who are not twins but are in the same year at school.
They do say that just after giving birth is a very fertile period for a woman, can't remember the scientific explanation though, so I can see how it can happen, but boy, what a shock it must be if not actively TTC  (which I can't imagine many people are deliberately doing straight away after having a baby!)
In our case, ahem, it would have been possible to have another one with an under 10-month age gap, as it took us less than a fortnight to get back into the swing of things, both times.Jeez, the things you admit on a public forum!
Not as bad as the story I was told by a midwife about a couple who got it on in the postnatal ward!  :eek:0 -
I was terrified by a story I read years ago in a woman's magazine about someone who died after doing it not that long after childbirth. Apparently the, erm, action forced air in which got into small tears causd by childbirth ad the air travelled around her bloodstream and killed her. Bizarrely it wasn't they dying that frightened me - it was people knowing how I would have died!!
I waited after the caesarian too - had visions of it bursting open during the act. Think I might have too overactive imagination!!0 -
Forgive me if this is a dumb question but how do you like cook and stuff? Do you do it all when she's in bed or something? I have Alice with me on principle so that she can learn how to do things (on Wednesday she managed to fetch the salami and tomato puree for me out of the fridge and she helps with washing up and laundry) which I realise most people probably don't do but I just can't understand how you can get things done without letting her in there.
No, its not a dumb question - we're all different.
I don't cook!:rotfl:. Well, not as in 'proper' cooking as I'm vegetarian so DH prepares most of his and Poppy's food. He batch cooks and freezes in portions so I just re-heat for her.
My dining room leads on to the kitchen so she is within full view and even closes the babygate herself if I forget!. She is only 16m so there is plenty of time to come when she will be allowed in

My OH says he's not even gonna bother me for anything, he'll know I'm ready when I book my app to have coil put in :rotfl:0 -
