I'm glad you didn't take offenceI was just genuinely worried you might not be ready...
I am sure you will make a super mum - you're not flinching away from unpleasant questions and you answer them very calmly and with clear thought having gone into them - a blooming good start!
I know young mums can be just as good, and I am sure some even better than older mums, so don't let age worry you - look at charlotte church!
I don't think you can be 100% ready for a baby either - but obviously asking lots of questions will help
When you get pg and a little way along why not go along to a local breastfeeding "club" or whatever they are called... speak to mums and have a look first hand at how they manage?I hope that if you decide NOT to BF it will at least not be because you still don't want the baby latching on to you

Cat girl : There have been some studies that suggest that some women get a hormone surge just as they come off the pill - meaning that they are extra fertile before their next period. As you are concerned about PCOS I would suggest you take some folic acid for another few months before coming off the pill, and then even if you get pg immediately you'd have been taking enough folic acid to help prevent neural tube defects? The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

firstly, i can only apologise to anyone who found the turn of phrase i used offensive. as i mentioned in a post afterwards, i have only ever known people complain about bad experiences of breastfeeding and heard those terms used. having now heard the positive side off a few of you on here, and reading the website you gave me last night, (brilliant information btw), i am now a lot more open minded to the possibility of Breastfeeding! thanks for all your help and opinions on the topic.
secondly, re: mrs tines concerns over am i ready for a baby. a lot of what you mentioned is what i've already played through my head 1000 times since we started discussing it. we are in a very stable relationship, moving in together v.soon (since i have now taken control of his finances) and i feel that while i may be young-ish, i've already more than lived my life (2 summers in an 18-30 resort has wiped me out!). im also more than prepared to take the pain and everything else, and i appreciate all your concerns. im not sure if you can ever be totally 100% ready for a baby, but i think we are as near to it as possible, and we've decided to start trying at the end of my pill packet. saying that, im on cerezatte so god knows how long it will take!
also, galvainzersbaby, with your dd starting school, have you gone through all the simple things with her teacher, i.e making friends etc. she might just be simply overwhelmed with the changes, bigger kids running round etc. it might be worth having a little chat to her. i know i went through a phase of hating school and crying just beacuse i didnt like school dinners!
phew, that was a long one! again, thanks for all your help!
Morning xcat_girlx - I realised that your comments weren't intended to offend re the b/f- it tends to be a very emotive subject and I reckon it's good that your thinking about breastfeeding before you fall pg - I fully intended to b/f both of mine and unfortunately didn't get the support I needed to continue as long as I would have liked (it's not alway's as easy as it looks whatever size your boob's are and I guess at 29 with a successful career I would have fitted in to the older professional set!
)
Anyhow good luck with the TTC - there are a lot of pro's to starting your family at a younger age just as there are when you are older and financially settled - you will manage.
BTW I fell pregnant recently on Cezarette (had been taking it for 6 months) so I would not assume it will take you a long time to concieve!
Re my daughter, got to school this morning and she didn't want me to come in to the classroom with her at all let alone have me stay! - she wanted me to say goodbye at the door so she could go in by herself so look's like it was just settling in nerves - they are funny things kids! (well my 2 are anyway!):rotfl:0 -

i think i've watched so many friends go through problems with their partners etc during pregnancy, im wanting as little added stress as possible.
i've been thinking about the b/f and tbh im now thinking that given all the sickness, aching etc in pregnancy then ofc the actual giving birth bit, im guessing sore nipples etc are a doddle? its now more a case of seeing how other people cope with the problems of dad doing feeds!:j TTC from September 08 / BFP November 08 / EDD 22nd July 09 :jOH's debt as of Sept 08 - £15,000 / Nov 08 - £13,5000 -

Yep she started a week and a half ago but she has a March birthday so she's part time till after the October half term - she's 4 going on 14 - a right little madam!
Yes I think there's pro's and cons to each - both my sisters were in their early twenties when they started their families so I was the late starter in our family - don't think early thirties is that old though (have to say that as I'm 35 now!)

And THAT shouldn't be a problem
especially not if you can get round using an expression machine or whatever they are called
(Sorry having another blonde day when names of stuff eludes me!) Personally I don't mind getting up to feed bubba in the night too much - but it will be nice if hubby can at least do the nappy changes etc for me to help out. I know he'll want to help feeding though so we'll work that in too
I'm sure I can express enough milk to do some bottles for him to help me out - and I'm sure at 2am in the morning I'll be quite happy to let him do a feed
From reading what others have said then not everyone gets sore nipples... I spoke to my mum this morning and she said she didn't but her mum did - I guess it's pot luck on that oneDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
