Talk to us Bailey..... you might feel a bit better after.
Keely, glad you are being referred. I know it was getting you down. We only had to wait a week for the first appt so hopefully you wont have to wait too long either. We've got another appt on 17th and if no better they'll prescripe ranitadine. Bailey had it with her little ones.
My LO is having jabs todayDid you guys give calpol after jabs or did you wait and see if your babies developed fever and then give calpol. Its just that I googled calpols ingredients and was shocked at the amount of sweetners/preservatives in it. I know I'm a worrier but I'm quite nervous, not about the injection itself but about how he'll react afterwards. He cries enough as it is, dont know if I could cope with him feeling poorly as well as his reflux. Keely, I seem to remember Elliot was poorly after his jabs. How common is it for them to have a fever afterwards?
He's always been a strong boy not very sickly - not sure if that has any effect on these things?
Ps have a look at all the different baby paracetamol things as I seam to remember they all had different amounts of additives in and I think I ended up with the calpol with sugar not sweeteners but I'm not sure as it was a long time ago0 -

i always give calpol before we go for the jabs, one dose wont hurt and i would rather it was already in him when he needs it instead of waiting for him to be in pain before you give it iyswim,
right or wrong we have never had a problem, other than the tender lumps n the legs and a case of the grumps!
meanwhile back at casa George.... i having a nightmare, i broke out in a mad allergic reaction yesterday, my eyelids swelled up and i came out in an all over rash, VERY itchy, very red and angry looking! (this is of course ontop of the stinking cold/cough ive already got... oh and in the middle of all this last night i started my period too  ) been to the docs today and its hives, oh goody!
no idea what caused it and we will probably never find out, im now on an antihistimine for the next month!
bah! (and i look like a bassett hound that needs a good nap!)0 -

Oh CG, my sympathies. I had hives once when I was 21, or urticaria to give it the posh name, and facially I swelled up like a balloon and had spots that turned into painful wheals all over my body. It was horrendous and the original antihistamine they gave me didn't make any difference. I never found out what caused it and I'm now 38 and have never had it since, if that's any consolation!
Olivia had it on holiday in France when she was 3, in the middle of the night, again no real idea what caused it, possibly an insect bite. You have to be careful about the airways swelling up, but luckily the doctor was only a few doors down, saw us even though it was gone midnight and gave her some antihistamine there and then.0 -
Can anyone help?
my little one is 3 months old, she sleeps well during the day and can be put down awake. Get to bed time and i cant get her down, its driving me crazy. im feeding her myself, and trying to give her a bottle without much success.
do you think its to early for controlled crying?
any other advise to help would be great, im VERY tired!Mum to 2 beautiful daughters born Oct 05 & Oct 08

Hey bailey - I was thinking of you when I was at the gym this morning! Can you get out of the house and join a gym or go to an exercise class anywhere? When you exercise, your body releases endorphines that are sometimes called happy hormones, so if you could get to a gym or a class, it might help you.
All of mine love dancing so sometimes we stick a party CD on and we all do the Timewarp or Cha Cha Slide something silly like that. That perks you up as well and you don't have to leave the house for that.
Jabs: I never gave Calpol unless it they really needed it afterwards, and they have to be pretty ill before they get it too. Just don't feel happy giving them painkillers. I think it's because I think my parents are both addicted to paracetamol, and I'm scared of me and the children ending up like that.
CG: Hope you feel better soon. That sounds really nasty. Here I go again on my own....0 -
lwcus - i didnt give Oz calpol before his joabs but had it in house just in case - and don't buy it GP or nurse who does injections should be able to give you prescription for it. He was fine for his jabs cried when it happened but was grand 2 minutes later, he was always a little grumpy for about a week afterwards (maybe coincidental) and he had a local reaction - ie got a big red lump where jab went in.
bailey talking def. helps when you're feling low.
daisykate - no advice as such, my wee man didnt want to sleep day or night at that age! (i'm breastfeeding too), so its good she'll go down in the day for you. where does she sleep in the day? same as night time? maybe she doesnt like the dark, have you got a little night light. everyone has different advice re controlled crying and i had to let my son cry when he hit 6 months and it worked for me, but maybe 3 months is a little young. Having said that you have to go with your instincts.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Minor achievement this morning - Izzy has sat happily in her bouncy chair on the kitchen floor while I washed up! So I made the most of it and got all the surfaces tidied and properly clean (rather than just wiping round everything like normal
) and cleaned the sink and draining board too.... It was all ok so long as I didn't stop singing! When I tried this before she wasn't having any of it, but she's a bit bigger and braver now (and she doesn't look so lost in the chair, so it might be a bit more comfy for her.)
I got my mum to help me measure her this morning too - she has grown 3 cm since she was born - I thought she was taller!
Anyway, time for a nap. The man downstairs has his music on loud again, but maybe the bassline will soothe us and send us off. We can only hope!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Henry is younger than Chris isn't he? I think he is so I would go for harness with reins rather than a wrist strap so you can stop him falling over, I'm assuming he goes like a bull in a china shop like Chris does so falls over anything and everything including his own feet!
Funny enough we went out yesterday for a walk with the dog and put Henry in his wellies and he would go rushing off then fall over.
Its worse when I have to take him to nursery in the mornings cos he wants to walk but before I've managed to lock the front door he's off down the path towards the road!!
here he is in his Wellies http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=321587&id=1238780812Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
